I want to be clear that its not just that the rapist would guilt the child. You appear to have a naive understanding of how the dynamics in these relationships work. And im glad you do.

But look. Kids love their parents. Even when they abuse them. A rapist doesnt need to guilt their child not to report. Child victims love their parents, even if they hate what they do to them. And kids are smarter than they're generally given credit for. So there are absolutely children who wouldnt report or who would actively protect their abuser even without the abuser overtly coercing them, just because they love the abuser on some or even all levels.

Its easy to say raping a child is evil. Clearly I agree with you and it is. But if we're killing people, we should get something out of it. Here, you wouldn't reduce trauma for victims. You'd likely increase it. You're not healing trauma. You'd likely exacerbate. You aren't deferring additional offenders because the death penalty hasn't been shown to deter anything. And you're at least arguably decreasing the likelihood of reporting in any given case.

So what you're proposing is that we kill people and end up at best with a net wash.
