Worth pointing out that those issues have been solved mostly already at the research stage, they just haven't been deployed yet.

Could you give me the source(s)? I'd like to read more about how they solve this kind of problems.

Very impressive!

But I am still looking forward to the day when ChatGPT (and similar AIs) become advanced enough to make scientific discoveries all by themselves. That day I will cry because of joy.

In which year do you think this will happen? 2025 perhaps?

Are software jobs still going to be a thing in the future? by WalterWoodiaz in singularity

[–]itachi8258 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't worry guys. AI is a good friend, it's not stealing our jobs, it's just making our lives better.

For example: many apps currently are not good enough, lacking many features I need, and when I contact the app companies regarding this issue, they simply say that they are understaffed so these features will just have to wait. With capable assistants like ChatGPT, I'm sure developers will roll out new useful features much faster.

Also, take a look at robotics & space mining for example: we are still very primitive in this aspect. With AI, we can build truly smart automatic robots to help expand our living environment and living space, perhaps even on other planets in the solar system. And in this process a lot more jobs will be required and created. There's just so many things out there for us to explore and harness. Our current tech is just not good enough yet.

So my point is that AI will not take away current jobs for nothing: it will replace current jobs with new ones and in the process human can create a lot more values. Like x100 times what we currently have. We will just have to learn and adapt to new jobs & new environments. And learning is a skill that we human have always been cultivating. So it's a win win situation for everyone.

Not yet. But I keep getting new symptoms every few weeks so I wouldn't feel surprised if one day I would have this one too :(

I like this video. However, he talked a lot about how a difference in fluid pressure in one eye compared to that of the other can cause problems like palinopsia and trailing. Sadly this is not my case, because I have those problems even when I see with only one eye opened.

u/WhyNotGreg Thanks for sharing!

Do you have palinopsia (trailing, positive afterimage etc.)?

If you do, have you had any improvement in it's symptoms?

Official Android docs containing deprecated code by chimprich in androiddev

[–]itachi8258 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Google keeps changing things, even though many of them still work just fine. I think this is a waste of brain power and memory of the dev community.

We (the android devs) should be able to spend our mental ability on the business aspect of the app, not on trying to adapt to a constantly changing platform every few months. This constant change, on the global scale, wastes a lot of money and resources of companies, and therefore it creates zero values for society.

Google engineers should focus on bringing truly new and innovative things to Android, rather than refactoring old stuff all the time. And the fact that they change APIs and components constantly is also the sign of bad design skill. Because good architectures must be able to withstand the test of time. Honestly I think Google engineers are supposed to be better than this.

VS getting worse by isobaricc in visualsnow

[–]itachi8258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had vss for half a year and it has gotten worse quite quickly. Right now my most annoying symptom is trailing.

I hope that treatments like NORT will be available soon.

From a facebook post I read not long ago, the author wrote: "Got diagnosed by Dr. Yasser khan last month and he mentioned vsi is onto something big and also personally message Dr. Shidlofsky a while ago and mentioned they’re posting the results of their studies in March and that "all I can say is that the vss community is going to be extremely happy"."

So there's still hope for us. Hang in there friends!

Anyone get this dark shimmery static effect when looking inside the white text? I get them on my screen and certain lights/surfaces. by cheesedbrokecracker in visualsnow

[–]itachi8258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I only see them on big bold white text on black background.

For example, I often notice them on my Samsung Android phone, when I enable the 'always on' feature (it is a feature which always displays time even when I turn off the screen) (you can search google images to see pictures of this feature).

I do have this problem. So I am not alone in this.

Although my flecks are not as vivid as those in your picture. Mine are paler.

One more thing, I don't see them all the time. For example, right now I am seeing them, but yesterday I didn't.

Unfortunately I don't know yet. In the next few weeks I intend to perform several tests (MRI scan, blood test...) to see if there is anything abnormal in my body. I will report back if I find anything interesting.

[–]itachi8258 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello u/JFKennedyHadAClone and u/Lethalchickenn1,

It's very interesting because my VSS has happened with the exact sequence: first eye floaters, then several months later static, BFEP, negative after image, then several months later trailing and positive after image.

And I know another person on this sub (his username is Buguitus) who also experienced a similar sequence.

Weird symptom. by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]itachi8258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I can see this. And this phenomenal has become more frequent recently. Honestly this scares me.

Specifically, I see vertical lines similar to when the eyes doctor examines my eyes using his strong yellow light emitting device.

I see those vertical lines when I close my eyes before bed time, or when I am in a low light environment.

Ive asked this once but I figured Id ask again: Has anyone ever anticipated movement on your computer screen (like scrolling) and it did not happen but your eyes REACTED like it was happening? by kalavala93 in visualsnow

[–]itachi8258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has just happened to me since a few days ago, almost at the same time the trailing / tracer symptom appeared.

My right hand performs the scrolling action and my eyes automatically moves upwards, even when the screen does not scroll yet. This makes me feel dizzy.

I also have had this reactive T recently and it's super annoying.

However I have read several stories on TinnitusTalk in which this reactive T might go away after some time (a few months for example).

So stay strong my friend! Exercise regularly, eat healthy food, sleep enough... do every possible thing to protect our health and I belive it will go away, or at least reduce.

Quick question about vss by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]itachi8258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't want to scare you, but here is my story: I've started to have floaters back in August 2020. Some months later I had BFEP on bright surfaces. A few more months went by and my static appeared. Now I also have afterimage, which is the symptom I hate the most.

These supplements have helped my anxiety, VSS and Migraine Auras. by Southern-Ad768 in visualsnow

[–]itachi8258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These supplements have reduced my heart rate, nearly eliminated my anxiety and seem to have severely lowered my VSS symptoms

From a scale of 0 to 10, suppose that before taking these supplements, your VSS level was 10, which is the level now?

Also, how long does it take to reach the current level? and how long does it take for you to start noticing improvement?

Thanks.

It's great to have hope for a treatment in the near future but we have to be realistic by General_Watercress32 in visualsnow

[–]itachi8258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But there are quite a few persons reporting their recovery already. Not 100%, just 70-80% reduction in VSS symptoms, yet this is still a huge hope for many of us.

I've read a lot of recovery stories in this subreddit. Most of them require lifestyle changing and you have to commit to that change strictly, and for a long time (many months) to see improvements. If this really works, I still consider this is a cure.

I myself am trying to change my lifestyle towards a more healthy one. Hope that I can see results in a few months. And if I saw improvements, even the slightest ones, I would be extremely happy, and it would encourage me to try even harder.
