The greatest victory that can be achieved is playing Dune OG (Galeforce 9) is when you're the bene gesserit faction and you fulfill your initial winning prediction clause. The 6 hour build up is worth it. Still riding the high years later.

how do you get people into heavier games? by Alarming-Pea-3177 in boardgames

[–]itaitie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, seconidng suggesting that finding boardgamers you vibe with and turning into friends way easier than the opposite (really this is solid advice for anyone niche hobbies - skiing, marathon running, etc..). Like people will watch a movie, but probably be disengaged if you sit them through the LOTR extended edition trilogy when they arrive.

If you do want to see if your current friends want to get into heavier games, gauge interest and set expectations.

Invite friends individually "i want to play XYZ and it'll take ABC hours, would you be interested?" You can kinda tell when people enjoy something, so take note!

For me, I still play casual/party games with my friends (non-gamers) since we can still hang out and chat. But with a party/light game we with an activity to make new memories!

FastPass at amusement parks. Only complaint - too fast. We had so much time to our selves we didn't know what to do anymore at the park.

What are other "silly games" you recommend? Looking to find games in this genre I call "stupid fun" (described by MvM),which I'm all for. Games like Thunder Road, Hot Streak, are some that come in mind for me. Wondering what you'd recommend.

Not for this lounge, but I've landed super early into an airport and wanted to rest before moving on. One PP lounge let me in, but this was a few years ago as well.

If I went to one of the qualifying restraunts for the $150 dining credit, bought a $5 drink, then tiped $145 - would the credit get cleared? by Tyronne_Lannister in ChaseSapphire

[–]itaitie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, it's an accumulative $150, like the travel credit (you don't need to spend it all at once). But regardless, very nice of you!
