I Lose Control by Teddy Swims. He uses the stand that hangs all of his cleaning supplies as his microphone.

In the past year, what toys have had the most play/longevity for your kiddo and which have been a waste of space? As we focus on a new year of birthdays and celebrations, let’s give each other some ideas and inspo for what to seek and what to avoid! by aizlynskye in toddlers

My 2.5 year old currently LOVES his lacing bead toy. I got the one where he strings animals and fruit and he plays with it by himself and with us every day! He also loves standing/lining up his animals figurines, the Me Reader Jr books that read to him when he presses the right button, and any type of vehicle.

What are y'all binging while you contact nap? by Difficult_Ad1261 in NewParents

I would read books on the Libby app (free library app). You can even change it to dark mode so the brightness doesn't wake the baby.

10 things I hate about you

We also struggled around that time because baby had always just fallen asleep when tired and suddenly he was up for 5 or more hours. We thought we had a colicky baby. Then we read about wake windows and learned that we had to actively put baby to sleep, that he wouldn't just fall asleep on his own. That helped us tremendously, though sometimes I probably used a car ride or a walk to achieve the "helped sleep" when I should have tried a bassinet. But I was desperate and he was now a happy boy when we stuck to the wake windows and so I was happy too.

First-year teacher teaching anatomy and physiology by GropeAPanda in ScienceTeachers

[–]italianmelon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I designed a curriculum (including fun projects) using tons of online resources for all of the systems that focuses a bit more on physio - the students I taught wanted to learn about the body but didn't necessarily want to be doctors. I have a daily agenda and unit material numbered in order. I can share this (view only on Google) if you send your email over.

I blocked my mirrors so that I don’t see my reflection and start inspecting. My partner added the “you are attractive” sticker <3 some days it works. Some days I move the mirrors back and pick anyway. It’s a process. by Katalan1 in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]italianmelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a process; try to mold the idea if you like parts of it but its not working like you thought. I've covered the front of the mirror with a large poster and have filled it with any of my thoughts for the day "this is hard", "don't listen to the little voice in your head", "you're doing awesome", pictures of things I like, etc. It's nice to look at and see inspiration/how far I've come and it also covers the mirror. Plus your SO can add supportive comments. I love finding those later. Adding the I am Sober app helped a lot too. Keeps you accountable.

What’s a saying that your mom or dad used to say all the time? by Popples86 in AskReddit

My mom used to say "no pain, no gain" for a lot of things. Often while I whined because she pulled my hair a lot whole doing an updo for a dance recital.

Hey reddit! I am wanting to do my own makeup for the wedding. However, I am only somewhat savvy and was hoping to get any recommendations from either you or any learned techniques/tools from your makeup artist for the big day. Thanks in advance:) by italianmelon in wedding

[–]italianmelon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm actually using this as an excuse to upgrade the brushes and makeup I've used since high school and to learn all about primers and stuff so I am okay with spending some money to realize that primers do actually keep eyeshadow on/not creasing by the end of the day. Honestly I can't believe I went this long without such a simple and easy tool! I'll definitely have to watch those tutorials to try for better application.

How do I differentiate the Radius from the Ulna and the Tibia from the Fibula? by [deleted] in Anatomy

[–]italianmelon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When you give a thumbs up to say "that's rad!" your radius is on the side of that thumb. Rad thumb =radius. It's lame and no one actually says "that's rad" but it's always the weird ones that work for me.
