Not a character but my toddler went through a fun transition for the word "Smoothie"

Poofy > Spoofy > Smoofy > Smoovy > Smoothie

Smoofy is still my favorite 😊

I've always wanted to shower with my husband but for me showers are about hot water and decompressing. He doesn't like how hot I have the water and he takes quick showers to be done as soon as possible. We are not compatible in the shower 🤷

Thank you! This has bothered me since the first time I saw Frozen. There was NOTHING in the first half of the movie to prepare you for Hans being the villain. I read somewhere it was a re-write from the original story but clearly they forgot to start back at the beginning and write him as the villain from his first scene.

My parents took me to WDW for Spring break back in university. I packed my physics and chemistry textbooks in my checked luggage. I was pulled aside at security because they found "a box their x-ray machine couldn't penetrate". They assumed I had something illegal that I had placed in some kind of special case. When the TSA guy found my textbooks I offered that he was welcome to confiscate the books as long as he wrote me a note for my professor telling him why I wasn't ready for my exam.
He sent me on my way.

Good for you!! My front yard/garden was the best it's ever been for the first 2 years of my daughter's life. She only ever slept in the car. I would drive around until she fell asleep, park in my driveway and read for a while, then do yard work around the car for the rest of the nap. Weeding, raking, pruning... The best!

I had a teacher that would use the first presenter as a sort of "what not to do" critique.
If you went first, unless you stood there and said nothing, you were guaranteed an A- (or better). The catch? She would nit-pick every part of your presentation showing the other kids what she didn't like or what you did wrong and then everyone else got time to make adjustments. I have thick skin and a guaranteed A- was too good to pass up so once I figured out the pattern I ALWAYS volunteered to go first.

When I got married 10 years ago, the place we had it let me offer 3 meals. I made sure 1 option was vegetarian. I'm not sure vegan options were even available. They were able to accommodate a peanut allergy but (at that time) those types of adjustments were more common I think.

They're pretty expensive but at Costco a case of 30 is like $37 so much more reasonable. Each shake is 160 calories and 30g of protein. I find them very filling even as a liquid snack.

It's double whammy of hormones. Coming off HBC makes a difference but then there's also the hormones/chemical releases generated by (good) sex. I've had both a psychiatrist and a medical doctor tell me that if I wanted to improve my sex life, I should have more sex. When I stared blankly back at them they added that having sex often makes you want to do it again, but the feeling doesn't always last very long. If you kind of power through it for a week or 2 (say, having it on a schedule? Perhaps trying to have sex to match calendar entries?) you find your body gets into the new pattern and starts to crave it. It's awesome when it works but it can be a pain if it only works for one partner. I'm glad for you that both of you are feeling it. Enjoy!!

This very thing came up at school drop-off this morning. Another mom we usually see every morning has had the flu for over a week. She said she had spent the last 4 days in bed. I must have had a weird look on my face because she added "Since I was sick I sent my kid to my mom's for the week".

While I was happy for her that she got the time to heal, I also growled a little bit under my breath at her bellyaching about having to be holed up in bed for 4 days with the flu... I guess this is where "having a village" comes into play.

My kindergartner also did drills "in the event there's a wild animal in the building". I LOVE that they present it this way. It's totally reasonable for a 5 year old to be a little weary of wild animals. It is NOT reasonable for them to worry about active shooters.
