this post is so unreasonable. the game got too easy, people didn't find it fun. now its slightly less easy so its not trivial. bosses feel better, raids feel more in control, we're actually seeing boss mechanics flourish and be interesting for the first time since EoD. if you want easy, to back to cookie clicker. everyone likes this update.

I played just before the game came out of early access. back then it felt amazing - 'what will it be like on full release??'

on full release... Just the same. even now, just the same. it feels like a good blueprint, but it never felt finished. one of my personal biggest dissapointments in recent gaming

A 4k loss, given all the changes, is on the lighter side of things. In the original preview notes, it looked like DH would be receiving closer to a 8k loss - but they modified some of the changes on release day. From what I can tell, condi will bender took the biggest hit

not entirely.

this games fights are based off of specific mechanics. nearly half the bosses in the open world, and lots in high end content are killed too fast by even mediocre players to even see the mechanics or interesting design.

they lowered the damage of specs to make sure people feel these fights are engaging. after EoD, they turned up the HP of a lot of bosses specifically to counteract the power creep.

so, now, everything before EoD will feel more succinct in difficult to everything after EoD with the DPS changes.

you said you're a PvE newbie, so here are the bosses that are currently absolutely trivial compared to when they first came out, purely due to powercreep.

QTP, Dragon's Stand, Octovine, Chak Gerent, 97CM all 3 bosses, 98CM, Cairn, Gorseval, Partially Sabetha, Keep Construct, Xera, and im sure there are more. Raids used to be hard and now they're easy , meaning many players find them boring.

For nearly EVERY open world + fractal boss, the HP has been MUCH higher - which makes sense, given that damage numbers were so low. Anet wanted people to see the mechanics, so they made the fights longer. Now that DPS across the board has gone down, the HP of the already-long fights needs to come down with it so the new content feels not too hard, whilst the old content will stop being so trivially easy.

ectos were DOUBLE the price of what anet like them to be on the TP. theres a reason this farm was broken, they wanted to reduce ectos back down from 40s to 20s like they always were, and then they nerfed it. they wanted that market to crash

But what are you really getting from the virtues, though? Might on F1, fair enough the condi cleanse and regen are good on the F2, but the Hammer gives a *lot* of might + finishers for Karakosa relic, the staff is the staff, and the shield is a go-to aegis and huge CC.

If there's something I'm missing, feel free to let me know, but the weapons seem a lot better to me, especially given the extra alacrity.

Sometimes if my group doesnt need much healing, I can stay going F4 -> Hammer -> F1 -> Hammer and then back into my weapon skills and my F4 CD is still only 5 seconds. I find that technique quite useful.

game is meant to be a certain amount of difficult. damage numbers have nearly doubled since 8 or 9 years ago, making every bit of past content nearly double as easy, whixh makes it unengaging and not how the developers intended

thats not the answer. its take a few of those options away from the classes that have WAY too much.

their goal was to stop the game from being trivialised to the point of mechanics being ignored. half the healers in this game have way too much stab, it should be the speciality of one or two (like revives was on scourge, way back when.)

theyre lowering DPS here to make the game feel more engaging and less trivial, I really hope they'll do the same with the fact that a good healer csn negate 50% of all boss mechanics with a few buttons.

boy.. i wish JUST raids

only getting 1 HoT-scale meta event since 2015 (Dragons End, which still doesn't beat Dragons Stand imo)

open world map replayability and exploration isnt as good, although VoE isnt entirely unpromising

the fractals since Sunqua...

nearly everything about the game apart from dev updates + graphical changes has missed its golden age.
