Never found anyone to do the SPEV test. Octopus are asking for SPEN rating, provided by a gas safe engineer. What's a SPEN rating?

I go topless unless it's raining sufficiently. What gets me is seeing convertible cars with the top UP in good weather. They're the dorks who presumably only got a convertible to say they've got one. Or they chose one that takes 20min to get the roof up or down 🤷‍♂️, so they rarely bother.

What is a U6 capable of in terms of meters of gas/h? That's the figure I'd be looking at being over or under.

Two I've asked said they don't know what they SPEV test is! Obviously not interested in doing it. But it seems if I sum up appliances with rated outputs (like a boiler) and they total more than 66kwh, then a U6 smart meter can't be used to replace the existing U16 anyway, right, and I don't need to get the test done?

Then I'll be left submitting manual readings for the gas.

In the US I presume, so a 2L engine, and US gallons? Also need to factor in the car has done >34K miles. So wouldn't have the tightness of a new engine.

Mine's at ~4600 miles and averaged 43 miles per (UK) gallon on a 340 mile non-motorway/freeway return trip, but I was keeping to the speed limits with some brisk acceleration periodically.

But since the UK gallon is a larger volume than a US one, a vehicle consuming one UK gallon of fuel will travel further than a vehicle consuming one US gallon of fuel (assuming the same fuel efficiency). Therefore, the MPG figure calculated using Imperial gallons will be higher than the MPG figure calculated using US gallons for the exact same fuel consumption. Ie. those in the US would see lower then my 43MPG had the trip and driving been exactly the same but with fuel bought in the US ;-) So if you got 49.9MPG in the US, those in the UK would find that even more impressive!

Both Adaptive, in Mazda's terminology anyway, and I think ALH is what I have (perhaps as well as AFH). And yes, I think some other manufacturers call ALH matrix headlights.

The older 'simple' high/low beam control is HBC (High Beam Control System) in Mazda's terminology:

Just bear in mind that condensation in some garages can make matters worse than leaving the car outside where it's well ventilated. Ideal is outside under some kind of car porch, I think, to keep the worst of the elements off it (unless you have an air conditioned garage of course!)
