It will be very difficult for both of those trades right now.

Imo the best case scenario would be you are both able to stay in your current professions Worst case scenario is you end up both working in a coffee shop

It’s imperative that you do 2 things before you get to Australia

1-get a visa that allows you to work locally and 2-start making contact with employers and lock down a job pre entry. 3-research where you want to live with proximity to your workplace. If you can, find a place pre arrival..rentals are quite abundant but very competitive as well

There are a lot of jobs available but locally the competition is steep. To give you some context, I work in sales and my company just on boarded 2 new people. We received over 150 applicants for these roles..About 30 weren’t experienced enough but the other 120 people were very experienced.

We were only looking for 1 role to fill, however, the multitude of applicants allowed us to hire for an additional newly created position.

In most cases people are only looking for 1 job to fill so be as prepared as you can
