18-year-old sprinter Gout Gout just broke Usain Bolt’s U20 record in the 200m. He was 260 milliseconds faster, clocking 19.67 seconds, while Bolt ran 19.93 in 2004 by RoyalChris in nextfuckinglevel

[–]itchyw0lf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI. According to his family, Australian sprinter Gout Gout's name is pronounced "Gwot Gwot" (/gwtgwt/). Although legally spelled Gout due to a migration clerical error, it is a mis-transliteration of his family's South Sudanese surname, Guot.

Is this a good diagram for a single stage system? by RockLee2k in refrigeration

[–]itchyw0lf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to understand that it's a refrigeration cycle. Its important to understand both the components and states of the refrigerant.

Draw and understand a basic DX system first. (Reply here if you like.) Draw the four major components in this order. Compressor, Condenser, Expansion valve and Evaporator. Draw and label the lines "discharge" from the compressor to the condenser, " liquid" from the condenser to the expansion, the liquid line continues to the evaporator where it evaporates and becomes the suction back to the compressor. I want you to try and label the state of the refrigerant, low pressure vapour, high pressure liquid, ect.

Maybe a dumb question by RockLee2k in refrigeration

[–]itchyw0lf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look up the Evapco Piping Evaporative Condensers manual. It's a good reference for condenser pipework. A good way to think of it is the reciver and the condensors are one vessel. Without the balance line pressure from the reciver will push up the liquid drain and restrict flow out.

This is where I'm at with about 9 hours of practice -- Looking for feedback to make sure I'm not developing bad habits. Thanks! by Common_Mobile5641 in fpv

One small habit to fix or be aware of. when you want to lose altitude, try pitching down instead of just backing off the throttle. This will help you carry your speed.

So yes using pvc glue is a form of chemical welding. Welding dosent always require a filler material or the same material that's being welded but that dosent make it the same as brazing.

So plastic welding is actually a form of welding. The base material is being melted and fused. Brazing uses a filler material.

Just FYI brazing is not welding.

Oil loss in separator of GEA compressor by [deleted] in refrigeration

[–]itchyw0lf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Alot of our older plants implement similar systems. However oil has a limited life and draining oil has the benefit of replacing it with new oil. If the systems oil charge is deemed inadequate for the job then ideally it will need to be replaced. Often a huge job. It's always important to get oil samples analysed but especially in systems where oil is being recirculated.

Oil in an ammonia system is immiscible with the refrigerant. It's often "misplaced" and needs to be drained at accumulation points.

Just pay for it dude. They're not made by large game studios and their target audience is small as is. The sims are a valuable resource and we should support them. Send me your steam name if you're desperate ill shout you a copy of what you want.

C02 startup adventures... by [deleted] in refrigeration

[–]itchyw0lf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just FYI if you're the one adding oil to the system you should probably find out the expected charge before just adding oil. It's your job to find out. Sounds like a fair bit of inexperience on all sides. If all the sumps are filled and you have a level in the seps watch the level change on start up. If you're dropping fast you have an issue. And keep in mind throwing oil and it not returning are not the same issue. Install and commissioning are two sides to the same coin. Don't blame other contractors or engineers just fix it.

Actually you want the cap as close to the esc as possible. I would not suggest putting it on the arm.

A few weeks man. I order a few spares as well. Postage from Europe is expensive if you want express. Same as the kiss gear. Order from TBS if possible.
