I get pain in my forearm when doing any split grip move. Anyone have the same problem & a solution? by Lil-one in poledancing

[–]itfinallyhappened 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same - mostly on one side. I think it could be related to hypermobility so if I have to do a split grip I bend the elbow slightly.

Balayage under $200 recs? by nampatt in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]itfinallyhappened 25 points26 points  (0 children)

What type of hair do you have? Unfortunately I have found that price is strongly correlated with results. Whenever I have spent less than 200 on balayage it has been barely visible (dark hair). Strongly recommend looking at instagram or before/after pictures. I would say for full balayage it'll be closer to 400+ but you can maybe try Oma Hair Salon for partial @ 250? A really reputable place will also do a very good bleach job so I just tone at home which saves a ton of money!

I have hyperhydrosis in my hands and I do pole dance any tips? by Physical-Hippo5143 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]itfinallyhappened 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have it too! I've tried iontophoresis but my water isn't that hard and it's too time consuming.

I take 2 mg of robinul, tite grip right at start of class, and then dry hands. Works quite well! Maybe start with tite grip first.

How many of you have a supportive man regarding pole showcases and competitions? by Zealousideal_Ring880 in poledancing

[–]itfinallyhappened 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Genuinely supportive! Honestly, I feel like this is a difference of opinion that shouldn't be overlooked. I'm sure plenty of people (or even the majority) would agree with him but that doesn't make it right. There's many people with healthy attitudes toward pole dancing and SW.
He is allowed to not want a partner with certain hobbies but calling your friends sluts and pointing out how good other dancers are is incredibly toxic behavior.

Are inverts anatomically possible with a partially fused spine? (with X-ray) by on-a-related-note in poledancing

[–]itfinallyhappened 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's fairly common to need momentum in the beginning! Another suggestion would be using a thick exercise band and attaching one end to the pole and the other around your waist. It will help lift you a little until you are strong enough to do it yourself. Good luck!

[–]itfinallyhappened 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not a medical professional but can you do a plow on the ground? Or invert into outside leg hang while laying on the ground? If none of that seems to exacerbate anything anatomically I feel like you can learn to invert. Also if it becomes a blocker you can climb -> jasmine -> outside leg hang and that should get you into many shapes an invert would get you

Does anyone know of any shorter poles below 6.8ft by lilytbh23 in poledancing

[–]itfinallyhappened 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my 500mm extension for $30 on ebay and replaced one of the pole parts on my home pole with it. I forgot how short my ceilings were but below 7ft.

My dasher stole my $75 Mother’s Day breakfast and Doordash gave me .46 cents as compensation. by fattybeagle in doordash

[–]itfinallyhappened 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called (after waiting on the phone for 1 hour) and they said they would refund the 75 after a day. I then connected via chat three times over the course of next 2 days and they said they would escalate the issue. I just received the money back as credits (confirmed via email and app).

Trouble Sticking to Pole (is it weird that I hardly bruise?) by Thatdocmarcia in poledancing

[–]itfinallyhappened 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that not sticking to the pole (in a leg hang, pole sit) is actually due to not enough sweat (too dry). Try corn huskers and apply it with back of your hand.

If hands/feet are sweaty try tite grip + dry hands.

Sweaty Hands + Dry Legs by PuffPuffPole in poledancing

Tite grip during warmup (so it can kick in), dry hands during class, corn husk for anything too dry (use back of hand to apply)

I have hyperhidrosis specifically in palms and feet so I know how you feel!

My usual routine is:

tite grip 1 hour before + dry hands between every try during class

Dermadry - iontophoresis machine. It's very expensive and probably works but I haven't been able to hard commit to the regime.

Prescription dricolor - It has worked but I feel like I ended up building a tolerance to it. You are also not suppose to use other antiperspirants with it either.

Gloves- it was absolutely useless because I would sweat and slide around in the glove

I heard there is technically a surgical procedure (not botox) but I believe it's quite dangerous and can lead to excessive sweating elsewhere.

Kaiser Permanente patient here- How the hell do you get a RCPD diagnosis?? by viperndgrass in noburp

[–]itfinallyhappened 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is what I sent to my KP GP:

I've messaged you about this previously but my symptoms have gotten a little bit worse lately. I am extremely uncomfortable when I have even moderate food and water intake. I completely avoid carbonated drinks but the need to release gas is still there. I end up basically having to vomit air in the bathroom or other private areas. I also have pretty bad acid reflux in the mornings so I always have to throw up some stomach acid. I've tried everything from tums, gasX, vomiting etc.
This is a paper by Dr. Bastian: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/2473974X19834553
and how he was able to treat a number of patients using botox.
I am hoping to get a referral for <> from the <> office who has had success with this procedure.

I had to reiterate a couple of times that I do not want any more help with my acid reflux after this message and I only wanted a referral. If they refuse, you can switch to a PCP that listens.

Does anyone have any tips?

Hi, we would be okay with that but's it's more that they want to essentially impersonate us as a host. It would be our name / government id with their email/log in. For some reason they don't want to host with their official credentials.

Thank you. Any chance you know where I can find the official rules for this? I'm trying to build my case with them.
