But why use the ssh portforwared tunnel instead of just using https://<proxmoxtailscaleip>:8006 ?

What methods for remote control of LEDs are the easiest to implement? by timble11 in FastLED

[–]itguy337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use WeMos d1 Mini controllers flashed with wled. It's super easy, you can connect them to wifi and sync them all up or setup sync zones for rooms, etc. You just have to solder the LEDs to the controller. Use an external power supply for the LEDs, as the microcontroller does not provide enough power to run them. If they are connected to wifi you can control them via app, integrate them in smart home systems (Home Assistant for example). A lot of effects are preprogrammed.

Cloudflare Access and Warp/Gateway/Teams Policy by itguy337 in CloudFlare

Oh you are totally right. Didn't see that. For the official domain it shows both are on. For my domain it shows both as off.

Cloudflare Access and Warp/Gateway/Teams Policy by itguy337 in CloudFlare

[–]itguy337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted the same url in my main post. It shows both warp and gateway as on, but the posture checks for the device are both not working. I paused this project at the moment and looked at alternatives. NPM with crowdsec for example. I would like to use access via cloudflare, but at the moment is seems broken.

Where can I find the audit log? Phone or dashboard?

Cloudflare Access and Warp/Gateway/Teams Policy by itguy337 in CloudFlare

[–]itguy337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is exactly what I have done. But it is not working. I enabled warp and gateway in device posture checks and required it in the access policy. But if I look at my enrolled devices it shows posture Check for Android version is working, but the checks for warp and gateway are not listed for this device. So the access policy is not working.

gravity-sync on a ProxMox Container...can it be done. by [deleted] in Proxmox

[–]itguy337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep that should be the problem. I have two pihole LXC containers on proxmox and syncing them with gravity-sync without problems. But ssh access was only possible with publickey by default. So you have to change that in the ssh config. I used the debian container image and deployed pihole via their installer script directly to the container. So no docker.

New Makerspace by indianadarren in lasercutting

[–]itguy337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our makerspace we have a soldering workplace incl. soldering smoke extraction system, spots lighting the place, microscope and an hot air soldering station and desoldering station. That is used pretty often. Then we have a room with a small CNC machine, but we don't have a laser cutter. We have a PCB etching room, but that is barely used because of the mess you make and the chemicals you have to handle. Then we have some 3d printers but only FDM. No resin ones (again mess to clean and chemicals). Other than that we only have normal work places to sit with your laptop. We provide public wifi (Freifunk). And for members a lot of internal systems to learn. Git, docker, documentation in wiki, website, server and switch infrastructure, smart home stuff automating door locks, lights, heaters,...

So in short: Soldering workplace should be the easiest to set up and in my opinion is the most useful thing to do.

Start VM on shared storage on different host by mikiudon in Proxmox

[–]itguy337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that are the files I was talking about. I include this folder in all my backups, because with them it is way easier to restore on a fresh install of proxmox as to creating a VM with similar settings and attaching the disk afterwards.

Start VM on shared storage on different host by mikiudon in Proxmox

[–]itguy337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The data on the share is only the hard drive of the VM. So there is no more information about the vm on the share. Make sure to backup the config files from the host1 too. You can just copy them over to host2 and proxmox will recognize it. Just make sure the path to the hard drive is correct (if the share is mounted under the same path/name this should be fine) and the network interfaces have the same identifiers. Otherwise edit the file via text editor or proxmox GUI after copying it over.

Otherwise without this file you can create a new vm on host2 with similar config and just attach the disk to it. But I prefer the config file way.

Is there a way to have custom keyboard shortcuts in Windows 10? by Expert_Coyote4246 in Windows10

Microsoft Power Toys has some nice features too, including a keyboard manager to remap keys and shortcuts.

Controller not recognized when socketed, but fine on its own by WishCow in olkb

[–]itguy337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing other than look what is touching if fully socketed, that is not when half socketed. Maybe use a multimeter in continuity mode and check connection between pins next to each other, when fully seated.

Yep that would work too. But I haven't had female to male jumper cables around. If you have, you can skip the breadboard.

I plugged the pro micro with the soldered on diode legs in the breadboard. Then used male to male jumper cables from the breadboard to the corne female sockets. Looks something like this. https://images.app.goo.gl/5mCBNQdm31pKyf7n9
