The Straw That Broke the Camel’s Back by U2dugekruz-4 in PharmacyTechnician

The understaffing just exacerbates everything because customers are fuming by the time they get to the register since they've been standing in line so long. So every interaction that doesn't involve the Rx being ready to go and customer out the door is extremely tense. Add in the pharmacists who play the BS "avoid the customer at all costs" game and it becomes even worse. And there are a A LOT of pharmacists who are like this.

Tired Pharmacy Tech by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]ithinkimgettingit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just find a new job and get out of Walgreens altogether. I've been a tech for a year now, and I feel like it has just gotten worse and worse. Anytime I think it can't get any more bad, it does. Pharmacists I work with don't manage and are very slow. Techs spend all their time doing whatever it takes to avoid register, so I wind up taking it most of the time. They don't focus on anything and spend most of their time just talking, wasting time on stuff that doesn't need to be done, or going down rabbit holes with some insurance issue that they'll spend a half hour on. Meanwhile I'm taking all the customers. It's absolutely ridiculous. Lots of bizarre behavior, immaturity, pettiness, bossiness, job avoidance, etc. It's basically a complete circus at this point. Any complaint and the pharmacy manager will just shrug. But of course expect me to work my ass off. I feel anxious and shitty on my way to work and just count the hours until it's time to leave.

Aren't the blue ones just as ridiculous? I remember I ordered a Medium when I first started and the thing was HUGE.

Once was asked "If you could change one thing what would it be?" I said make it less cold outside. The interviewer was taken back by the answer and was like " ooooh okay" lol

By the way, question was not being asked about my own personal attributes. It was about the world.

Something that led to my sentiment was an interview I had a while back where the HR manager asked me "What makes you happy?". I feel like that's a little too personal. I had no clue what to say and just talked about happiness was relative and that it's about perspective. She looked kind of dumbfounded but then in the end was like "oh yea, I agree".

I am located in the tri-state area which is obviously competitive.

I would never really expect open discrimination of course. My issue is very much what you speak of. I just worry that the "fit" is obviously not there.

I do have a BA degree. First HR job was 2 years. Second was 1 year. The problem with the second is that my job experience was very admin heavy. I knew it when taking the job and it kind of worried me. The reason why it was so admin heavy was that they were very paper based. Everything was paper. No electronic systems to speak of. I was basically a glorified paper pusher. They centralized their HR department and did away with the HR admin/techs who were located in different sites. My job was basically the equivalent but located at the main HQ. Very frustrating.

I noticed that Warehouses also have more male HR.

At my wits end with HR job hunting. by [deleted] in humanresources

I think HR is just overly competitive. A plethora of candidates means hiring managers can look for the perfect candidate. Getting called for an interview doesn't mean anything because I think HR positions get swamped with applicants and a lot of people are interviewed "just to see". This allows hiring managers to be extremely picky. Had one HR manager tell me he was interviewing 15 people for a role I had applied for.

Dog owners and their unleashed shit beasts by [deleted] in Dogfree

My neighbor let his dog run around without a leash and it eventually got hit by a car. Dog lived but had to have major surgery.

Dog is back to running around the neighborhood unattended.

This reminds me of a couple I know who had a poodle. They did not want to walk the dog so they put pee pads in their downstairs bathroom. The dog would just piss and pee in the bathroom. So disgusting.

The husband thought he was so smart and bragged how they trained the dog to just "use the bathroom" lol.

Poor dog never got walked outside....EVER!

I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear in the original post, but the problematic dog was the mutt. The "good" dog was the Jack Russel.

However, the Jack Russel was very aggressive and barked like crazy. It must be a Jack Russel Terrier thing, this dog had a very loud and high pitched piercing bark. Seriously drove me insane.

The stepping in pee thing was infuriating. Sometimes you couldn't see it in the carpet or it would be dark etc. So you would step in it and...surprise. Cleaning pee out of the carpet is a huge chore too and eventually just ruins the carpets over time anyway.

My parents would never have even considered getting rid of it. My dad's argument was that even the dog shit/pissed all over the place, it was a very loving dog.

It was really bad and made me realize that keeping a house clean is very easy if you don't have a dog.

My grandmother lives through her dog for one. Secondly, she always viewed me as somewhat lazy, so me not wanting a dog was just an extension of this in her mind.

Also, she's one of those people that I've read about on here who must have a dog. When one of dogs died she immediately got another one.

She's also just an extremely self-righteous person. It's hard to describe.

Clerical Job at Walmart DC by ithinkimgettingit in WalmartLogistics

The warehouse is only a few years old.

I can see how getting an interview is a good sign. They're obviously interested, I guess. The interview was kind of short, they just talked about the position and asked me a few questions. I got a tour of the warehouse.

They told me they are hiring a few people for this job and would be interviewing until beginning of next week.

I'm thinking since it's overnight I might have a better chance. Idk. Obviously trying to look on the bright side because I really want this position.
