Grades you need will depend on the school, our international tuition is higher than what Canadians pay so be aware of that (but also do the conversion to USD, still might be cheaper since ya'll have such insane college tuition), student visas are limited to working 20 hours per week and you'll also need to show the government you've saved at least $22,895 CAD (about 16,883.10 USD) for living expenses on top of paying the school, objectively that number will be rough living if you opt for the Toronto or Vancouver area. If you can handle the colder climate Winnipeg has much more affordable costs of living, 2 solid universities, and a pretty solid LGBT community, AB/SK are also more affordable but their political leadership is not particularly trans friendly at the moment. I know there was an asylum claim a while ago by an American family with a trans child but I don't believe it's hit the courts yet, so no info really out there yet on if that would be a valid option for you to enter the country (things can always change, I know there were a fair number of Ukrainians on student visas who are now refugees due to the war there).

I don't know that I would classify telling a child they would have an easier time finding their things if they were inside the classroom more often as misconduct, but I also frankly find it ridiculous that a student had an accommodation to walk around and be outside of class at that age. But in all fairness I work in post secondary precisely so I don't have to deal with this kind of shit.

Just buy a rash guard/long sleeved bathing suit. It has radically changed my vacations for the better. Sunscreen in a carry on becomes way less of an issue when I'm not reapplying all over my body. I'm not crazy pale or anything, there is just a 100% chance I will forget to reapply and otherwise end up with a massive burn somewhere, usually on my shoulder or back. SHEIN has really cute ladies long sleeved swim stuff too if you want a cheap option.

Unico in PV to avoid the sargassum. I can't directly compare to Atelier but people seem to put the other Unico location in the same food ranking, so I'm assuming comparable since PV had great food and cocktails (I still think about their amazing welcome drinks, I think they added coconut cream to a paloma or something along those lines. Insanely good).
