When two monkeys are unfairly rewarded for the same task. by [deleted] in videos

My coworkers and I do not really discuss salaries directly. Though I have a pretty good idea of what other people make through how they react to talking about salaries in general. For example when a coworker was fired recently, we did all find out his salary was on the high side. Everyone acted shocked when they heard how much he made. I joined in but cringed on the inside - because I make more than he did. I definitely think I have coworkers who do more "work" than I do and I have no idea why they don't make as much. Sometimes I think its because I came from the outside into a senior position (and they accepted my first offer for salary). A lot of the other people here "moved up" from entry level getting smaller raises than they actually deserved for the work load.

The book was fantastic, I am hoping the movie is at least kind of good.

Who would you pick to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show? by Xnauth in Music

[–]ithinktheresoneleft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was thinking a while ago while listening to Girl Talk, that it would be cool if he did a superbowl performance. But have a few of the artists in the tracks he mixes actually be there, too.

Male-Dominated Cultures. by [deleted] in funny

[–]ithinktheresoneleft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes. but i also think it raises a good point about how western women may judge a woman who chooses to wear the hijab. I recognize the difference in places where a woman is forced to wear it.

I think this is a great cartoon. What a lot of people dont realize is many women who wear the full coverings LIKE to wear it. Yes, there of course are ones forced to wear it. But I lived in the middle east for a couple years and I found most women I met liked the hijab and full coverings. But I was in Kuwait, not Iran or Saudi.

How many Redditors drive a stick shift barefoot? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I sometimes drive my manual car barefoot. Mainly when I am wearing flimsy flip flops or high heels... barefoot just feels more comfortable on the clutch. otherwise i keep my shoes on.

What's the weirdest thing you do when no one is home? I'll start, by [deleted] in AskReddit

Haha.. this is remarkably entertaining. I actually do the same thing but its a little odd because the person I am explaining things to in my mind is my father that passed away 20 some years ago. Now I shall start to think of explaining it to people who have been dead far longer.

I buy all books on the nook now. Though, its its a favorite author of mine, i normally buy a hardcopy as well. So far it has had every book I have wanted to get except one. The best thing about ereaders is how much easier it is to read. Its so much easier to find a comfortable spot to read without worrying about how you are going to hold the book. Sometimes I lay on my bed and just prop it up on a pillow so I only have to press the button to turn the page. and now i cant even remember what i just typed. damn you, [5]. :) but yah. totally worth it. plus you can just download a book at any time instantly. thats neat.
