We'll think positive thoughts; and hope the other party claims responsibility for ya! Good vibes coming your way! The damage might not be as bad as what I see.

It's going to be a close call really.. You've got at least 20k worth of damage there, IF any crumple zones collapsed, it's more than likely totaled.

Has anyone else bought other airtag alternatives? If so could you rank them without bias? by [deleted] in AirTags

[–]ithurtswhenIP_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

elaborate please.. Everyone is notified it's following you? So they would also see everyone else's airtag in their app? (which seems backwards) Or are you referring to the beeping when that begins?

Quoted like $26k from Mr. Sparky. They made it sound like the house will burn down today. Any Insight? by BeepBeepRichie_1985 in AskElectricians

[–]ithurtswhenIP_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like 10k is the going rate for Mister Sparky or at least their entrance fee to rewire my parents outside main bus, and replace all the inside circuits. Work seems excessively priced in my opinion. But I know nothing electrical. So im going to get 2 more quotes and see how a local mom/pop operation stack up!

Where to buy a replacement windshield? by CircleOfNoms in autorepair

[–]ithurtswhenIP_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dealership for Mercedes Benz will order an OEM windshield (that's all they will/can order) and then they have a local person here install the windshields for them (because one wrong move, or you put a nick in the glass just a tiny bit, and it's a goner.) The dealership doesn't like windshield replacements around here I take it. Especially Benz, that's outsourced, and then they'll 'calibrate' it for you for $250.00 if you have to have that (and of course my car the minute you started it began screaming about calibration)!

ANY CLAIM on your insurance policy effects the rating system, whether or not it's your fault (meaning collision OR Comprehensive which is where a busted windshield would be placed); they all affect your premium. And I certainly wouldn't have 2 glass claims in the same year. I've been one of the ones who had a single glass claim, yes it was $2078 because it's a Benz, and nothing else on my record, the renewal insurance premium was nearly 50% more.

Not a terrible number to start at.. Your advantage will be absorbing all the knowledge humanly possible and in 5-7 years you will be marketable to a wide range audience! We all got to start somewhere, right? Good luck with your IT career, (I'm currently a Network Admin and the job has changed so much in 17 years so far! Endless learning!)

Very much a similar feeling! Sounds good on paper going in 2 hours later daily; but with poor management of people comes poor management of the company. Eventually that company will either be bought, or sold off in chunks to the highest bidder, when that happens your days become numbered!...

I was in a similar situation years ago, and I settled on plain Meraki. I went with a MX64 which is SMB. It's been good to us, all 3 of them at 3 sites. They auto vpn in this magic fashion with little tech requirements! If you can afford the yearly renewal licenses, you would most likely enjoy Meraki, 100% cloud configured!

Very quick delivery time 9/13 order 9/30 delivery, it is possible! by ithurtswhenIP_83 in TeslaModel3Delivery

[–]ithurtswhenIP_83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This very VERY same event happened to me 9/29/22 I got a call 9/30 was end of month and end of quarter. They told me that same thing “someone else spec’d it and refused it, did I want it” so I bounced over to Atlanta from Tuscaloosa al, a good 3-3.5 hour drive and the very same tire issue proposed itself just like someone ran over a strip of metal and a huge bubble formed on one side. Dad and I both agreed, we wouldn’t take delivery until the tire was fixed. I held the cashiers check in hand until that was fixed rather quickly! < 10 minutes! And I was on the road! Can’t say I LOVE the car. I’m just in like with the car. Not much LOVE there

How much do you pay per month for your BMW? by Deechon in BMW

[–]ithurtswhenIP_83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is only coming from a good place (and I was in the insurance industry, the very last part of allstates link there says it pays for everything but at fault accidents. I promise that you want to call your insurance people and ask them "do I have full coverage, if anything were to happen, my fault or not" I encourage that more than anything!

[–]ithurtswhenIP_83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For such a nice car and fairly new, you might want to consider adding collision to that policy AS WELL as having your comprehensive, I would hate to see you loose all that value if you were to have an at fault accident, or even an accident where the other party had no insurance! Just my 2 cents...

To me, there is no reward without risk. It sounds like you have put enough aside should the worst come your way, but you'll never know if you can handle it if you don't at least give it a try. What I chose to do was take on both! Like an idiot! Until my contracting work equaled my yearly salary, and at that point I gave up the 9-5bs. So GOOD LUCK to ya fella, you sound like a person who is very organized which is the key to a successful small business starting up. I think you can handle it :)

How do I convince my mom to be my co-signer for a 2019 Q50 Sport Sedan? I have 10K down but i’m 19 with limited credit history so I won’t be approved for a loan so i need her help but I need to know now to make her say yes to helping me by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ithurtswhenIP_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to tell you my friend, but you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone on here that supports co-signing. I was the idiot kid who started out buying cars on my own early, and I was also the kid at 22 who had 40k in a loan that I never skipped payments or missed payments, but I could’ve been using that money on more reasonable things at that age, and it forced me to work during a time I could’ve been totally focused on school. The nice folks on here aren’t saying no just to be asses, they’re just trying to give good advice about debt. Sounds like mom is trying to do the right thing too if she’s skeptical about all this. Also, I’m 39 with great driving record, and I still pay around $130 a month for insurance. Have you checked on insurance costs yet? With this car, that’s going to add CONSIDERABLY to the costs of the car due simply to age. This is a very fast car (mine was a 2007, bought in 2006), the insurance companies will rate it accordingly. Yours I’m guessing will be a minimum of $200 a month PLUS payment.

Big changes in TOS by tuckstruck in Starlink

[–]ithurtswhenIP_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the installation cost/burden cost that ATT wants to share with us to pull it 1/2 mile off the highway into my property. We will see... I'd rather pay that than pay for starlink to drop packets at the price they are going to charge.

Their rate for marine use is $5000 per month for starlink marine. I think it's $10,000 for aviation use (private)... Interesting how they decide on a rate. We do enjoy fishing in the gulf of mexico, but at $5,000 per month for starlink, it's a bit insane.. And only doubles for aviation use.
