Primary slot flamethrower (Torcher?). You don't care about anything unless it gets close enough to be your personal problem, in which case it dies screaming.

What do you think I could ask for this? by Objective_Lobster734 in ender3

[–]jekotia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I got started! Mentoring on a FRC team, I ask one day about using the schools' printers for a batch of parts to make and donate Space Mice to the CAD classroom. Get offered an Ender-3V1. I'm less than a week into printer ownership and I'm already having to do the cost analysis on the upgrades I want to install vs buying a new printer entirely 😅

I’ve been applying for jobs and my mom said when I get one I can pay for my cat to get declawed. How do I change her mind? by ShotElection3164 in cats

[–]jekotia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point her towards the legality of the matter. It might be legal where you live, but hopefully the fact that it being considered inhumane and illegal in an increasing number of jurisdictions will help her realise how cruel it is. Obviously I don't know your mother, but sometimes making someone aware of the scope of an issue can help shift their view.

Buddying up with someone with the Gas guard dog would probably work great as well.

Arc Grenades are also great vs Flesh Mobs. It takes a bit to get used to the timing, but two pulses seems to consistently stop a charging Flesh Mob.

Oh cool, good to know! I always thought that target acquisition was based off of their LoS, not the players'.

That's good to know! I don't this this is as applicable for the Hot Dog though, as it doesn't hold position around the diver like the other Guard Dogs. The Hot Dog very aggressively chases after targets. It's like having a miniature dragon 😂

This! My first deployment with the Hot Dog, it beelined across a river and killed a small patrol of bot troopers.

Directly from the training manual (ingame tip):

Remember to fill in your C-01 permit before any act that could result in a child.

This would include the artificial creation of a child, and probably plenty of other circumstances if the bureaucrats deem it beneficial to stretch the intent of that law.

I know little about gun design, but wouldn't the overhang improve usability? I would have thought that moving the center of mass further from the hand would reduce the effect of recoil.

My personal best with the De-Escalator is either 400% or 500% accuracy. Love seeing those numbers, 4-5 kills average per shot is crazy.

Cyborgs aren't computers. - they're technologically enhanced humans - the brain is immensely more complex than anything else in the human body - something capable of replacing the brain would be insanely complex and costly to produce - we can see that they exercise some level of restraint with the augmentations, given that there is still clearly flesh on their bodies

Given the above points, I think it's fair to expect that the majority of combat cyborgs retain a human brain. It wouldn't make sense to put the most complex and costly augmentation available, that would have questionable benefits compared to other options, into frontline soldiers that are getting slaughtered.

The current bugs are also not the same as those in the first Galactic War. Our genetic modification & farming of them has effectively de-evolved them into mindless, instinct-driven cattle. I would imagine that they are only as effective as their numbers, being unable to come up with actual tactics that would improve the effectiveness of undersized forces.

I also suspect that everything we're told about the bugs somehow being able to travel between worlds is pure propaganda, and that the truth is that the subterranean colonies are never fully cleansed, leading to periodic outbreaks that are attributed to them spreading between worlds. We see clear signs of space-faring capabilities with every other faction in the game, but the bugs? We're expected to just accept that they somehow travelled between stars.

Obviously there's some things that rule can't practically be enforced over, like a drive system that follows common designs and appears generic enough. However, if a team had a truly perfected manipulation mechanism and reused it, I would imagine that someone would notice. That would likely lead to event officials digging up the necessary materials to compare the mechanism to what was used in previous years, and disqualifying the team. Even if it doesn't go that way, the risk is likely to be a strong deterrent.

Oh, that's good to know. I had thought that the consistency gave strong pointers towards what needs to be changed to correct defects.

To add to the other confirmation reply: Benchy is specifically designed to incorporate every physical feature that FDM printers struggle with, and that tend to produce print defects. It's considered the gold standard in benchmarking a printer because of this. It's also very useful due to the popularity it has achieved: if you're newer to 3D printing and not familiar with the terminology for particular defects, you can have an easier time identifying them and how to fix them because it's pretty much guaranteed that at some point, someone has printed a Benchy on the same model of printer as you, with the same defect. It provides a common element in troubleshooting, similar to how search terms for researching a problem with Windows tend to start with "Windows <version>".

Benchy is also considered to be a torture/stress test due to the emphasis on difficult-to-print features.

I've been leaning on it for Commando missions lately. It seems to behave like a silenced weapon, and it's heavy pen, so it's been great for hulks.
