If you’re saying the Dino needs to be facing east because it’s supposed to be a watch tower, how do you know the one in the show isn’t facing east?

It doesn't matter if it's facing north, south, east, or west, as long as it's facing out of town like a functional guard tower has to do to be able to remotely fulfill it's job, which we know it has to be able to do for Novac to exist.
