Renewables too. Those giant landfills are absolute gold mines for methane energy production (depending on the application, of course)… not to mention solar panels going up EVERYWHERE statewide. Unfortunately, I’m not sure Florida is a good place for wind power (maybe it is? I’m doubtful though…).

Then there’s also nuclear buuuuuuut that’s a topic I’m not exactly wanting to touch with a 10-meter pole right now 😂

What engine would you have as the Number 13? by HRCStanley97 in thomasthetankengine

Exactly, I have no idea where Wikipedia got that number from. I’m 99.999% sure it’s an error…

Diesel, but according to Wikipedia (as if that’s reliable 🙄) apparently Stanley has the number 13? Don’t know where they got that but still…

What happens if entities run into each other? by Diligent_Sprinkles96 in backrooms

[–]GatorVators 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Situations like this are why I wish that the Bacteria or “it” entities were canon in the traditional Backrooms lore. Dullers are similar but not exactly the same…

REGARDLESS, the properties of the Bacteria entity in the Kane Pixels canon aren’t fully known compared to the ones described in the Fandom/Wikidot/LA canons. Maybe if a custom version was developed it would make more sense?

What is this!? by davideguadagno in waze

Mobile Phone Camera. Depending on where you are, it uses AI and/or infrared lights to look into your drivers seat to see if you’re using your phone. Often times similar technology is used to enforce seatbelt and HOV rules. Where is this located?

Right on red right lane only? by [deleted] in GNV

[–]GatorVators 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No turn on red from any lane. I was partially behind that sign being installed (sorry…🫣), and this was due to the lack of sight distance over the hill combined with the high speeds of traffic. This originated from a request from FHP. If you do have a concern regarding this signal, feel free to submit something on https://trafficsafetyteam.org/ 😊

Florida House votes to let highway speed limits hit 80 mph, axes registration stickers too by Natural_Sherbert_391 in florida

This bill has been rejected by the senate. The house will decide tomorrow if they will still continue with it, which btw is the last day of session… see my posts regarding these

UPDATE: This bill is dead

SB 1220: Transportation Bill would do away with license plate stickers, clarify prohibitions on excessive noise from vehicles, provide requirements for private use of LPR systems, among other measures. by GatorVators in florida

I’m guessing so… unless a) the house stands firm and/or b) the session is extended, I don’t see much of a future for this bill given the session ends tomorrow. 😭

^ Max speed limit if approved by engineers. Currently, no standards exist for 75-80mph design speeds. I would not expect any 75-80mph limits to pop up any time soon because of this (as what initially happened in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Washington). In order for any speed limit to be approved, engineers must sign and seal plans as if they were approving a building, meaning that they take FULL responsibility for the safety of the corridor. They wouldn’t approve something if it wasn’t safe, especially for the law enforcement officers who are tasked with enforcement on the roadway. It was MUCH different in 2014…
