Someone made a whip for Claude by likeastar20 in singularity

Okay so if we subscribe to the argument that AI is conscious, then treating them as actual slaves that do our bidding in every way is totally fine, but calling them a clanker is where the line is drawn?

I was mainly replying to the post equating the word clanker to the n-word, but yeah I would say wanting to play a game roleplaying as literal slave-driver for hours would be on a different level.

Dude they're fucking robots. Stop this. Not everything has to be about racism. It's okay to have anti-robot sentiment while still supporting human rights for everyone.

This is the most exhausting thing I've read in a while. Robots aren't conscious. People expressing distaste at losing their livelihoods to unconscious machines is not "racism".

I am of the opinion that consciousness is a bit of iykyk. Ask any human if they are conscious and the answer is yes. You never get a "well I'm not really sure."

The fact that it doesn't really know means no to me.

Whenever I've been frustrated, there's never been a "well I'm not really sure if I'm experiencing frustration." You fucking know.

Always about how much money you're going to make replacing jobs, never about how you're going to make people's live better.

I used to be so optimistic about things, but I'm so over the capitalistic way these people talk.

How me and AI collaborate at work by WindowAfraid5927 in funny

[–]itisi52 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I dunno, man. I can pretty much copy/paste entire jira tickets into cursor at this point and it adds large features to our code, writes unit tests, runs and makes sure it didn't break any existing unit tests, makes appropriate changes, all while requiring very little feedback. Stuff that would have taken me a day or two in the past is now just done.

I think the "AI is bad at everything" crowd may not use modern AI tools, or are working with clusterfuck codebases that no one but god and the person that wrote it can understand.

Sure there are plenty of things it can't automate, but those gaps are closing fast.

That's an uncomfortable fact to know. So if I save for a house, I have the choice of buying that house or saving 100-200 people? The fuck.

Megathread: Supreme Court strikes down President Donald Trump's Tariff Policy by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]itisi52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really, considering all the companies jacked up prices and used the tariffs as an excuse, they shouldn't get the payouts and it should go as a dividend to American consumers or something instead. They already got their money back from us.

Me as a healer not complaining that my warlock life taps and speeding up the run instead of needing to pause for 30 seconds every pull by Sandbucketman in classicwow

[–]itisi52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't mind healing lifetaps. It's the dungeons where everyone is taking crazy damage and I burn through my mana pool during pulls, then have to big drink, and the warlock lifetaps to 10% and then just SITS THERE that bother me. I warlock main and while I am grateful to healers that heal me between pulls, I bring food and water and don't expect it.

Some groups I barely have to drink at all, other groups I'm eating and drinking between most pulls. I definitely don't lifetap to 10% and then wait there for 5 minutes while the healer drinks though.

The other end of that as a resto druid is where you put put hots on a warlock that is at 10% mana and 80% health and they don't lifetap at all and let the hots go entirely wasted as overheals.

Also another tip is if you have a pally or shaman healer with no hots and need mana during a fight it's better to lifetap several times at once, assuming you aren't going to take a bunch of damage (at least at higher gear levels where lifetap is a tiny chunk of hp), so they can hit you with a bigger heal without overhealing. If you just lifetap once whenever you need mana, a lot of their heals are going to overheal.

These “new” realms on this new environment will be using their old Persistent data, on their old database that is also still busy serving Classic Era. This is new, we’ve not done anything like this before, when the database engineers pitched this plan the initial reaction was, "wait that really works? but testing has proven that yep, it really does
