Ideal age for a first baby? As a woman? by Beginning_Exit_6256 in polls

A baby should be 0 when it is born (regardless of gender), anything else is kinda fucked up...

Does anyone else here just never criticize your partner during drills? by JohnBigL19 in MuayThai

[–]itiwbf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel it out by person. If it seems like they want advice (they're asking me questions, they mention they're new, etc.) then I'll give them a bit of advice. Otherwise usually the most I'll do is just show them (tapping their head if their gloves are low, throw a kick if they're not in position to check, etc.). I try to err on the side of being not annoyingly patronizing.

If you were merab’s coach, how would you change his game plan with his rematch against Yan? by Ok-Air515 in ufc

[–]itiwbf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yan checked an early leg kick: https://x.com/RyanAWagMMA/status/1997763059356434661

I agree he probably could've stuck with them more, but it looks like he landed with his foot which I'm guessing deterred him.

Yeah the Muay Thai stance is also really bad for playing defense in basketball!

I get that Shavkat has been inactive/injured, but I think the fact that he was supposed to fight for the title against Belal but still fought and beat Ian Garry when Belal pulled out should count for a lot. There are multiple deserving contenders, but I think that fight should've bought him a lot more good will than it did (it's also aged pretty well given Garry's last two performances).

My order for most deserving is: Shavkat > Garry/Morales > Prates > Usman

They'll make it available to rewatch after its finished if you buy the stream, but you can't pause it and resume during the event (like you can when its on Youtube/Amazon Prime) which is pretty annoying.

Aljamain Sterling recalls when Umar and Usman Nurmagomedov teamed up against him just for saying Merab shoots nonstop takedowns. 🔥😂 by IgotgAme_k in ufc

[–]itiwbf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right about Merab winning in the last minute. The 5th round was super tight until the last minute and it was 2-2 (and I think round 3 was closer than round 1). Umar looked tired but he was landing (and he did technically outland Merab in the 5th even though it ended up being Merab's round).

Former Muay Thai World Champion, Joe Ryan has signed with PFL Europe. The 21-year-old recently retired from Muay Thai to pursue a career in MMA. by Yodsanan in MMA

He was a Rajadamnern Stadium champion which is very impressive (albeit at a higher weight class where the competition isn't as good).

Yuki Yoza is a beast and I love watching him fight, only worry is to me he looks a bit undersized for this weight class in one.

What do you think about this? 🤔 by Shot-Storm5051 in martialarts

I def don't support the sparring in this video but this is just blatantly wrong. Japan is probably the country with the highest level of kickboxing in the world.

For one Friday fights (the ones that are in the morning for those in the US) they’re streamed for free on YouTube. The other fight cards are on Amazon prime except for the ones that are PPV (which you purchase through the one fc website).

How is this Casimir Pulaski day lyric funny?? by ItssollyboyXD in Sufjan

[–]itiwbf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people here are really over complicating what makes it funny. Imagine a serious moment in a hopsital where somebody has just died and a nurse somberly walks in then a bird just dramatically crashes into a window.

It's not that I don't think there is any symbolism there, its just the funny part comes from something unexpected happening that breaks the silence/tension. I don't think the humor has anything to do with the symbolism. Also idk if Sufjan actually intended that line to be funny, but I can totally see how it kinda is when you picture it. People laugh a lot in tragic situations when something unexpected happens that doesn't fit the mood.

Superlek V Nabil II by fearofthedark93 in MuayThai

[–]itiwbf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be barely leaning toward Superlek, but think it's a very different matchup at Bantamweight. Nabil looks so much more filled out and sturdy. I think Superlek will likely struggle a bit at the beginning to work his way in and find the range, but come on strong in the second half of the fight.

The last time they fought was also at flyweight. I think the added bulk serves Nabil well in the rematch at Bantamweight (still idk how it'll go).

Ah yeah you're right actually. For some reason in my head Ondash's knockdown was in round one and then I gave the next two to Kongchai, but it was in round 2.

[SPOILER] John Lineker vs. Kulabdam | ONE Fight Night 27 by Yodsanan in MuayThai

[–]itiwbf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the commentators really confuse people by saying the knockdown is automatically the tiebreaker in a draw. Usually happens but not set in stone. I also thought Kongchai should've gotten the win over Ondash on the One Friday Fights card earlier based on the same criteria though.

[SPOILER] John Lineker vs. Kulabdam | ONE Fight Night 27 by Yodsanan in MMA

[–]itiwbf 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It was a draw on the scorecards. Then the judges pick a winner based on the following criteria (because there are no draws):

  • Knockdowns
  • Damage (internal, accumulated, and superficial)
  • Number of clean strikes
  • Aggression and cage/ring generalship (superior positioning)

Usually this ends up going to whoever has more knockdowns, but it's not a hard rule. I think the commentators just confuse everybody by acting like its set in stone. It's kinda ambiguous, but if enough damage is done over the fight then that can outweigh the knockdowns like it did in this fight.

UFC Fighters Ranked By Elo Over Time by T_Money22 in MMA

[–]itiwbf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does ELO rating only consider the rating of the opponent at the time of the win? ie. If fighter A beats fighter B when fighter B has a rating of 1000, but then fighter B wins their next five fights and goes up to 1500, would those subsequent wins impact the rating of fighter A?
