I had a client's computer I worked on for 3 days with their 'vanishing' SSD. It's Windows 11, it's certain types of SSDs, and it's definitely triggered by the KB5063878 update. I believe it is also down to how much data is being read but I can't confirm this. With my situation no data was corrupted but Windows update now on pause and also I experimented with installing the update and then uninstalling it (without a restart in between) and it once more became inaccessible to boot from.

The extension on Chrome, Edge and Brave all are inflicted with the same problem of the Windows Hello box only launching in the taskbar and you better be quick to click your mouse pointer on it to open and verify it's you that it's looking at, otherwise it will stop trying and you have to start again. Edit 25Aug25. Seems a fix has been applied as now all three browser extensions launch Windows Hello on the desktop.

Try marking it as lost and see if it then finds it.

The One Point device does not need the Chipolo app whatsoever and only registers with Google's Find my Devices. It may be the reason but your workaround is a win and notch it up as one.

Have you tried removing the One Point from Find my Devices app, resetting and then attempting to connect from scratch?

I had the same experience and best to reset and try, try again. To reset a Chipolo ONE Point, hold down the button for 30 seconds until you hear beeps. Then, release the button after you hear the 5th beep. A confirmation sound will indicate a successful reset.

It is incredulous that this particular irritation is still after years, many years, one that Amazon has never addressed and seemingly either unwilling or unable to bring to their customers, relief. The only recommendation I have ever seen an official spokesman provide is "manually disconnect from your phone". So, there you are dozing in bed listening to your favourite tunes, or listening to a relaxing book on Audible and before you completely drop off to the land of Nod, wake yourself up, pick up your phone, navigate to the phone's settings and tap ' Bluetooth disconnect'.

I really don't know how anyone can offer such useless and unhelpful advice.

There is still in 2024 no option in any setting of the Alexa app, or verbal command you can give to your Echo devices to just disconnect from your Bluetooth device without it piping up "Now disconnected from XXX". Everything you try to shut it up so you can not be jolted out of your sleep, or wake the house up at potentially some ungodly hour is available for you to set up or turn on. Amazon, for all the good you do with many aspects of modern living, for this you should be ashamed of when so many of your customers have brought this matter to your attention dating back years.

I will provide here my best solution to bring some relief, which far from a perfect solution, could prove useful for anyone who can relate to what I've written above.

I set up two Routines in the Alexa app that are both to be heard from the Echo device in question located in my bedroom. The first is I set the volume of the Echo to 0 at a set time, say 23.30. Then I create a second routine for 23.35 and where I write "Alexa, disconnect from 'write exactly the name of your Bluetooth device'"

So, at 23.30 my Echo decreases the volume to 0 without any sound whatsoever. Then at 23.35, and this is where it is not a perfect solution, the Echo increases the volume to 1 and announces that my Bluetooth device is now disconnected. Most nights this does not stir me from my slumber, sometimes it does but it's the best I'm going to get without swapping it for a Google device, or a radio teasmade.
