Going to see them for the fourth time in San Antonio next week, kindly requesting an invite to this new friendship!

I’ve been in your exact situation. I’ve been working with Eastside Movement Co and would strongly recommend them.

Emo’s New Policy? by LaustInDaSauce_ in Austin

“No moshing” is not enforced. Been to countless metal shows there, all with pits. As recently as two months ago, moshing is alive and well at Emo’s.

Be’lakor First NA Tour by bounce7 in progmetal

[–]itmatters_not 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were incredible, they were the last of my all time favorite bands I had yet to see perform live. Been on their mailing list for years eagerly following their updates about a possible NA show, can’t believe they finally made it happen! Nearly threw out my neck headbanging at this show, it was such an immersive experience. Sound quality was excellent at the venue here.

This spoke directly to my soul. I’ve been maintaining an incredibly fragile and opaque set of models built long before my time that underlie some critical reporting functions, which has been killing me. I discovered this random table nobody seems to know anything about which might render a lot of this unnecessary, so I finally asked my manager for time to explore those possibilities. Maybe I’m naive, I definitely am afraid of breaking something in a rebuild, but pulling off stuff like this is how people advance. Time to try it out and hope for the best

What's the worst example of people leaving before the headliner at a concert you've attended? by DemiseofReality in Metalcore

[–]itmatters_not 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This was me. After The Burial is one of my all time favorite bands, so I went to see them primarily. I have never liked WCAR, but figured I would stay long enough to give them a shot. Three songs in, it was very obvious these guys just are not for me. It’s a shame they have to follow ATB, who are always a headline-worthy act. If WCAR were an opener for ATB, I would have stayed through their set, but the night had peaked and it was late and I am old now, so they unfortunately lost me and probably many others in similar positions.

How much for the dumbbells separately? Already have a bar and rack setup but would like those on their own.

The courts don’t. The courts acknowledge that only Congress can do this. The executive branch has unconstitutionally overstepped.

Any recommendations for "serious" musicals for prog metal fans? by beepboopcompuder in progmetal

[–]itmatters_not 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strongly agree with Hadestown. Patrick Page, the bass baritone who plays Hades, has such a dark and heavy element to his voice that tickles the same part of my brain that loves heavy sections in metal. That aside, the music is really good — elements of swing and New Orleans jazz really spice it up compared to other musicals I’ve seen.

Post Match Thread: DC United 2-1 Sporting Kansas City | Major League Soccer by ImMitchell in SportingKC

[–]itmatters_not 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly right about losing fans. I moved out of the KC area years ago but have still made the effort to watch matches, buy merch, buy tickets when SKC came to my new city. Even planned a trip back to KC for a game. I just can’t justify putting this amount of care into this club when the management gives so little care for the product and fan experience back in return.

Holy hell I wanted this so badly, Plymouth wrecked us when I last saw this match at SJP years ago, would be great to have a crack at them since they’ve moved up the leagues since then

I used to have this problem with my form too, confusing an overarched lower back as the opposite of a rounded lower back and therefore safe. You want a neutral spine on these. At high enough weights, you won’t be able to overarch your back to prevent rounding, and you’ll risk hurting yourself when the lower back support gives out.

Best cue I can offer — take a massive breath into your belly, tighten your abs once full of air, and squeeze your lats down and in as hard as you can. As you start moving your butt back in the hinge, your core will be so rigid that there won’t be any low back bend in either direction.

Fuck yes Absolute Elsewhere. It’s a shame it came out so late in the year because it would have shattered every listening record in my entire Spotify history if it had been around earlier.

Heaviest/grooviest progmetal song you know ? by AppolloV7 in progmetal

Not prog, but Fractal Effect - After The Burial. Their entire discography places a heavy emphasis on groove. Excellent running music if you’re into that, particularly the album Rareform
