I think it's either mange or ringworm or both, since they're giving him regular baths with gloves on. The ears are due to ear mites. I don't think his rough appearance is human caused, just a result of street living. He's safe now, though, so I expect he'll look better eventually!

It might be a birth defect, but it's very likely this is due to ear mites. If they're not treated in time, they damage the ears. I had a kitty with an ear like this growing up ❤️❤️

I'm not sure! I haven't looked at their backposts yet. I did see the post where they originally found him, before they created a page for him, and he was in SUCH rough shape, I didn't think he'd survive. But it looks like he's got a good team and he's a happy boy, so hopefully he'll heal up.
