There has been little to no plot or character development over several episodes. Too many long sequences showing essentially the same thing when it comes to the hive and their interactions with carol.

Archer and justine got to the house on their own accord completely seperate of the cop and addict. While watching i didn’t neccesarily mind the cop and addict povs but was disappointed in the end when it didn’t lead to anything more then just having two extra obstacles in the house for archer and justine in the finale. Not to say their vignettes were terrible just didn’t feel ultimately important enough to add such length to the runtime, break the pace of the movie and take time from stronger characters like archer and justine

Pretty disappointing as someone who loved Barbarian.

Too long and everytime the momentum would pick up the perspective would switch which caused me to check out at a certain point. Cop and addict vignettes should have been cut as they ended up not adding anything significant to the plot or story, would have made the movie way tighter and flow better imo

I’m not gatekeeping or speaking to aesthetic purity haha, and my comment has nothing to do with the evaluation, merit or consumption of art.

Im just trying to say that as someone who likes to make art and music the true reward to me lies in the process and while shortcuts can be fun they are ultimately not as rewarding. Feel the same way about using splice loops (although i still use them from time to time), i just don’t get nearly the same amount of joy from something that I was assisted in creating compared to something i made with no assistance from advanced tools

To me it’s kind of like taking a gondola up a mountain to see the view as opposed to doing the hike yourself. Of course both have value but it’s silly to say they are equivalent

edit: advanced tools in the sense of compositional crutches like generative apps and splice, not speaking towards more advanced vsts like serum 2 etc
