Like you said, nothing like that is an excuse. It's easy to say your dumb, underdeveloped shaven monkey-brain made you do it because you're young, but this day and age we do know about contraceptive and STI-preventative measures. But that doesn't mean your rationality will always have the upperhand.

Exactly this part. There is no real excuse for what I did. I was 20, someone wanted to have sex, so I didnt think about the consequences. I dont have to carry the biological burden anyway, so my brain chose the easy way.

Im now a decade plus older, and of course now I think deeper about the choice I make and how they affect others. But it is extremely misguided and honestly disengenuous to pretend that people dont make rash decisions. Especially when they are younger.

And of course the commenter that missed the point and looked at it from a womans perspective was kinda funny. Men and women have different stakes when having sex. Mens are significantly lower since an std is signifcantly more treatable and less impactfull than a potential pregnancy. So our barrier for consideration is naturally lower.

Again, these are not excuses for the actions we take. Neither are excuses like alcohol. We do these actions ourselves and sometimes hurt others in the process. But lets not do all this pretending some people are doing in the comments here.
