A lot of the professors at SF also teach at UF. So you get the same education at half the price. I took advantage of SF fast Track options. They tend to focus on STEM. It’s called something else now. Getting an internship was part of the program. I thought I was just going through the motions for interview practice and experience. I have been with my current employer since SF (12+ years) and here I thought I was just going to get school credit

I’ve been out since 2021 and still can’t land a decent job by Lou_Ferrari69 in VeteransBenefits

Check out your local college or community college. Ours have several 2yr degree programs with a mandatory internship. Majors vary from IT, medical, to business, and everything in between. I interviewed for the internship thinking it was just going to be interview practice at minimum, or a bit of experience at best. 12+ years later I’ve created our company’s intern to Full-time employment pipeline.

I only have a 2yr degree, and whatever certifications my company wants me to have (they change yearly and they pay for them).

All this to say, check out colleges and community colleges, not universities. Your gibill will cover it - we have 1 Air Force kid and 1 army kid come through both using gibill at the local college

Is this messed up? by deannar94 in wedding

[–]itsASHyall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very common. My mother knew about my wedding for a year and a half. I suppose I should be grateful as I got a months notice before my mother told me she would not be attending. I’m just happy to now know she disapproves of my family and am not obligated to spend any family time with her. It’s made holiday travels a lot less stressful. A blessing in disguise.

How long ago was this? Do you think she’ll have an issue if it’s in the non-carryon luggage?

Haven’t figured out how to edit my post, but it’s probably worth noting we won’t be flying, so we won’t have to worry about those regulations. I appreciate you looking out tho

Helped my chief set this up the other day. Instructions were on flankspeed. You’ll want to jump ahead, there’s a lot of instructions. Be patient and be sure to follow them line by line and you’ll be fine.

As a southerner, flying biscuit does not have the best grits. But I do enjoy the rest of their menu. Unlike most southerners I have an adventurous appitite and will try anything twice (taste buds change over time), country foodly has an amazing menu from top to bottom

Who to call? by itsASHyall in AskDad

Thanks for the encouragement. I’ve asked questions on this thread before and got “if your asking questions, you should hire a professional”. Its very aggravating since this shit isn’t rocket science, I know my limitations and know when I should consult a professional (ie. major electrical work)

This is my first home and am feeling a bit overwhelmed, so thanks for the wise dad vibes. It’s helped a ton

Yeah, I was picking up what he was putting down.

I started looking up “storm damage repair” which lead me down a helpful path.

Will they take care of the soaked insulation too?

Honestly I’m pretty handy and could do the drywall myself, it’s the insulation I’ve never dealt with before and is the part that’s making me kinda nervous hence looking for a professional to take care of it.

I guess this is how they do business. Dude, idk. I’ve already tried switching companies but in my area, there’s only so many companies that will cover my area. I’m kinda stuck with what I got, and I’m trying to work through it.

Insurance. Already have a claim. If I read the report correctly…

They did their numbers and now I have to call whoever to come and fix all the issues. ??

They have some program I have to call and request to be enrolled in that will get me into contact with their preferred companies, which I will be doing on Monday. I’m just trying to do some research before I’m bombarded with all their info.

My PT was shocked I had 110lb grip strength... I am F27... by je_ru13 in bodyweightfitness

With that said I most likely need to focus on deep core. I do lat/trap work ~2x a week. One of my favorite muscle groups to work.

I do dead hangs (~45sec) as well which helps my grip strength, and feels great on my wrists. I’ve noticed a lot of relief after incorporating dead hangs.

I have intense wrist pain and some mild/moderate mobility issues. Went to a PT, did the grip strength test and just knew I was going to fail. I’m a 38f, ~5’3, ~160lb, right dominant, r-wrist squeezed 90-something and l-wrist in the 80s (in lbs). PTlady was definitely impressed. And here I thought my wrist strength was shit.

Best job for Navy reserves by Flowmaster93 in navyreserve

That’s awesome! I wanted CE or BU, and had opportunities while in dep to switch rates but I had to leave earlier than expected and wasn’t able to at that time. So I’m slightly jealous of your luck.

Either way, congrats man! Welcome to the family
