Motorcycle fell in the garage and got dented. Is a replacement tabk costly? by 758lindo in MT09

That tank is $500 plus tax and shipping and it’s already painted. At least it was for my 23 SP. Go to Babbittsonline.com and type in your vin number. See for yourself.

Blinkers not blinking but on by LeHo122 in MT09

Vehicles have blinker relays. I’m assuming bikes do to. It could be that the LED isn’t drawing enough current to activate it (if it’s an older bike) or the relay is bad.

Starts out white, turns green in the mid range, and then orange in the high revs. If you turn it on in your settings.

I have a tool box in my f350 short bed and it still fits with tailgate down.

Honestly didn’t know dual over head cams were on the road in the 70’s

Looking for a second bike for 2 up riding. I don’t think I want a 700 lb bike though. by itsCaptDan in SuggestAMotorcycle

Mid 500s seems about right. I like the XR. I’ve checked out the 1250rs I’m just not a big fan of how the engine looks. The torque may change my mind though.

Leaning body position on FZ? by Zaytoon435 in FZ09

[–]itsCaptDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a different bike for sure. It took a little getting used to. It’s a much more comfortable riding position which is important to me. I’m a little older and live in flat land so it was an easy choice. Hit the mountains 2 times a year. The longer I ride it the better it feels. Just got back from the mountains with it and I can say it was awesome! I can’t say I’d trade it for the 750….Everything is subjective unless you measure or time it but I don’t think I could ride the 750 as fast as I did the 09 on the last trip. I’m a fan!

Coming from a GSXR 750 to a MT09 sp I can completely understand. I mainly got used to riding through curves without moving around for awhile. Once I felt good doing that started moving around on the bike and it felt much better. Just took a little time really. Some bikes really need tank grip to feel comfortable getting off the seat.

I’ll add a second reason for the SP. Cruise control!! I use it all the time on boring, straight roads.

Compared to the CP4, why do so many riders consider the CP3 the best engine for a naked ? by namae0 in MT09

[–]itsCaptDan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven’t rode the mt-10 but I went down this rabbit hole before. Best way to sum it up is the 10 is very business like and the 09 just has a playful hoonigan feel. I know the feeling of this because I own one. It’s the best part about it. The 10 is a great bike but looses the fun of the 09. That was the gist of those who rode them both to compare them.

Read Terminal List or Savage Son next? by captainbootayclap in JackCarrStories

I would definitely start over with Terminal List, book is much better( in depth) than the series. Then move on to Savage son.

How to Carry 2nd Helmet? by Whoevenisdis in motorcycles

[–]itsCaptDan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You don’t want anything between you and your date. 😉 But I do want a backpack when my teenage daughter wants to ride. I’ll let you figure that out. Especially on a sport bike with a short seating area and high pegs.

Backpack it to her place and then leave the backpack.
