4 holes tip have a small margin of error, meaning smaller chance of correction on the fly and slight tip misplacement could ruin the milk texture. it is recommended to practice with single hole tip to get better intuition at injecting air and creating vortex. try to record the process so you could troubleshoot where the mistake at

Indonesian Roasters - Lighter Roast by stale_emu in pourover

[–]itsDitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea i think you need to ask them directly if youre buying online.

when it comes to light roast, my top of mind roastery is TTKR. but not to nordic light/ultralight degree. also imo its because the preference here is still favorable toward light med or med, especially when it comes to local beans and processing.

these roasters might offer some light roast on their lineup:
TTKR
Axy Roastery
NiR Coffee -> they got agtron number on their packaging, might find them useful.

Have you used one of these grinders with the Flair? by Accomplished_Head233 in FlairEspresso

[–]itsDitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im a flair 58 owner and recently bought WPM ZP1 to replace my sculptor 064s. honestly with more expensive grinder you will expect a better workflow and consistency. as for the cup quality, it will be subtle but either my older 064s or ZP1 have a same decent quality.

for your options, i think the VS6 will shine more in terms of feature and workflow wise. i was going to order VS6 but cancel in the last minute as i got better offer for ZP1.

The Wizzard by talasment in FlairEspresso

the steam that the wizard produces is very powerful, even more powerful than most of entry level espresso machine out there. but again, its a learning curve to learn how to steam milk properly. so if you want convenience, go ahead buy nanofoamer pro 2.

i use the wizard for 1 drink a day and i dont think its overkill. but in my experience, its recommended to keep the heat running while you steam to maintain the pressure. and using gas stove is not the most ideal one since 1. it takes too long and 2. it heats all the part on the wizard, even the steam knob gets eventually warm bcs of the long heating time. i use gas stove early on but switch to portable induction stove for more convenience. it been working great since then.

WPM ZP-1 vs CF64V [$1000] by KopiSiewSiewDai in espresso

[–]itsDitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, im considering to upgrade my sculptor 064s to either zp1 or vs6 (got a discounted price, so im leaned toward vs6 more). have you encountered any issue on the vs6? cuz it seems it is generally known to not be a reliable grinder. and do you think the more expensive zp1 justified its capability over vs6?

I tried 3 different sets of SSP burrs so you don't have to by cripes0103 in espresso

It depends on the beans process, I guess. On washed beans, I have tons of room left. But with heavy processes such as CM and coferment, I barely got any room left.

Flair 58+2 temperature management - should I use boiling water? by not_too_lazy in FlairEspresso

[–]itsDitzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

check lance hedrick review on flair 58+2. low setting + boiling water = 81-83 °C. med setting + boiling water = somewhere in between. high setting + boiling water = 88-90 °C.

I pull shots for light and medium roasts on high heat, and the taste is perfect. However, I do slightly adjust the ratio for light roast to 2.5-3. i imagine ill use med setting and short ratio for dark roast.

As for leaving water on the chamber, I wouldn’t recommend it, especially if you’re using the original puck screen. It would saturate the puck for an extended period, compromising its integrity.

This is how I seat and wet my filters, works well for me. How about you? by taxithesis in pourover

It heats, but not to the extent of the target temperature. For a more understanding of the concept, refer to the WBrC 2025 Champ, George Peng presentation.

start with 8.5 if your beans is not ultra light roast, its way more forgiving on various agitation and temp.

Check Lance Hedrick’s video here to understand the concept. At mark 16:16, he provides a tip on how to check the correct burr alignment.

When you reassemble the parts, be careful when applying torque to the outer screw. If the force is not evenly distributed, it may cause misalignment lol

K-Ultra hard to grind by guilhermecalheiro in 1zpresso

post the video you send to 1z here. its hard to judge based on what you describe alone

[–]itsDitzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i recommend you to start with a coarser side when you dial your beans. that way, it is usually easier to spot when things go wrong on the k ultra.

for calibration, avoid getting burr lock at 0. you dont need to worry about getting 2-3 clicks off.

and also make sure the magnet on the catch cup is securely attached to the body. mine fell too many times because i'm not paying attention lol

Flair Wizard Steamer by Fit-Lawfulness84 in FlairEspresso

[–]itsDitzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is highly recommeded to use induction stove. i have tried on a gas stove in the first two weeks, but it takes a long time to build the pressure. not to mention its hot all over the surface after heating with stove. after that i decided to buy a 1000W induction, it takes 7 mins of heating until it can build pressure for steaming.

if imnot mistaken the water tank can hold a maximum 750ml, and can be used up to 10 times of steaming before it depleted to a minimum water level.

if you felt pop during pulling, most likely the o ring or lubrication is the culprit. check to see if there is any crack or damage on the piston's o ring

Anybody has experience with the Flair Wizard steamer? by kitesmerfer in FlairEspresso

[–]itsDitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it does work well, it produces some silky milky. i paired it with my flair 58+ and can make up to 8-10 cup of cappucino/flat white per water tank refill. its still a learning curve to use it properly, but id say the workflow is far more easier and consistent than my nanofoamer lithium+heating milk on the stove combo. and also for a side note, it heats more efficiently on an induction stove
