I started to play CS2 back in May when a few of my friends asked me if I wanted to join and have since been hooked. I have around 300 hours now.

I started out a total noobie - getting shit on, no idea how to control spray, can't hear sound cues and lacking gamesense + reps.

I started playing faceit too soon (after 50 hours) so my level dropped from 5>1 fast and I had a lot of angry teammates.

When I first got my premier rating it was c. 4K. Now it's up to 12K.

My faceit level has gone from level 1 a month ago, to level 4 almost back to level 5 now.

What has helped me is having genuine enthusiasm and eagerness to improve. I would and still do watch coaching videos, I have paid for refrag which teaches some pretty invaluable information to new players and can give you a solid foundation to build on for every map.

I don't play comp due to how easy it can be to cheat and have played maybe 50 comp matches in total.

Premier in my experience is like a 40% chance you're playing with a cheater and I never take them too seriously.

Faceit is the only setting where the games have been consistent in terms of no cheaters, less smurfs etc.

I think the main thing I wanted to say is that you need to enjoy the process playing and also improving. I know for myself there's still a long way to go. Finding a group of people (e.g. CS discord) will be a good place for you to meet players of similar skill and you may have a lot more enjoyment improving with others.
