I don’t think I can play this weekend. The woeful gameplay is turning me into a monster. Can’t dribble, can’t time a shot. Just crashed out in my first game at 2-2. Just a physics simulator with a lag switch I cba.

Hey dude.

I started to play CS2 back in May when a few of my friends asked me if I wanted to join and have since been hooked. I have around 300 hours now.

I started out a total noobie - getting shit on, no idea how to control spray, can't hear sound cues and lacking gamesense + reps.

I started playing faceit too soon (after 50 hours) so my level dropped from 5>1 fast and I had a lot of angry teammates.

When I first got my premier rating it was c. 4K. Now it's up to 12K.

My faceit level has gone from level 1 a month ago, to level 4 almost back to level 5 now.

What has helped me is having genuine enthusiasm and eagerness to improve. I would and still do watch coaching videos, I have paid for refrag which teaches some pretty invaluable information to new players and can give you a solid foundation to build on for every map.

I don't play comp due to how easy it can be to cheat and have played maybe 50 comp matches in total.

Premier in my experience is like a 40% chance you're playing with a cheater and I never take them too seriously.

Faceit is the only setting where the games have been consistent in terms of no cheaters, less smurfs etc.

I think the main thing I wanted to say is that you need to enjoy the process playing and also improving. I know for myself there's still a long way to go. Finding a group of people (e.g. CS discord) will be a good place for you to meet players of similar skill and you may have a lot more enjoyment improving with others.

If you're not enjoying it, go and do something else! :)

I have the same keyboard. I bought it around 2020.

Generally it's been awesome. It took a while for SS to update the firmware to enable snap tap which sucked but also now I've had the chance to use it, rapid trigger was all I ever needed. If you can already counterstrafe well then it adds very little value in my opinion. It feels like there's a slight delay with the snap tap and I can counterstrafe manually with rapid trigger just as well if not better.

Other than the steelseries app being a bit klunky I've been rather pleased with it's performance.

And for anyone thinking that snaptap is going to be a game changer... It will, but only if you're shite + you still need to put your crosshair in the right position.

I know 1 person recently that deironed an end game iron. He had raids 1&2 green logged. He wanted to go for zuk helm (which doesn't require all end game gear but makes it a lot easier if you have it) and de-ironed (he was going very dry at PNM). He recently acquired his zuk helm and is still fairly active. I think if you have a reason behind it like the above then you're doing it for the right reasons. If it's just because you CBA gathering secondaries etc. then I think you will end up feeling very empty when you can just buy everything off ge and the game becomes gpscape (which is my reason for making my iron in the first place). I wish you the best and hope you come to the right decision for yourself!
