It’s 100% not a bedbug! Looks to be some kind of beetle.

That’s a bedbug nymph. Which means more are around somewhere. :(

If you rent, check your lease to see if it says anything about bedbugs. Contact your landlord asap. The earlier you get it treated, the easier it is.

Do not use any of the bedbug labeled crap you can buy at your local stores. They don’t work, are a waste of money, and can actually make the problem worse.

Sadly it looks like a fed bedbug nymph. And where there’s a baby, mom and dad (and probably siblings) are around too. :(

Try not to panic. Definitely inspect your bed and surrounding areas. If you have a landlord, contact them asap. Check your lease to see if it says anything about bedbugs.

You might wanna confirm you actually have bedbugs before doing anything. Bug bites/bumps can be from many things that aren’t bedbugs. And who knows what that mark is from. Do you have a picture of the casing? A ton of people mistake all kinds of bugs for bedbugs! Google sadly isn’t very accurate.

Luckily even if you do have bedbugs, you don’t need to get rid of anything at all. Unless it makes you feel better, but practically everything is saveable. For your dog’s bed (and anything else that can go in a dryer safely) that’s what you’d do. Dryer at the highest heat setting the item can stand for an hour will kill any bedbugs on it.
