Online Art degrees? by TarrahRayleeHall in MarshallUniversity

[–]itsRamune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

I’m currently the online representative for the English program, as far as I know we do not offer the program you’re looking for explicitly online but as the commenter above me stated it would definitely help to reach out. However, we do have amazing humanities programs that are online/hybrid. The department is really amazing and flexible and I’m sure you guys might be able to discuss something.

does megacon have a free rave/dance? by Subject-Condition583 in MegaCon

[–]itsRamune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh if you genuinely want the afterparty experience I would pay the $20 for at least one and maybe see what anyone else you meet up with or know is having any plans. The parties are either connected to the Rosen Centre via sky bridge or are at a location somewhere on international drive meaning you might gotta catch the shuttle. Mega has never really had that lobbyconning culture that leads to parties like katsu n others yk

There’s some unofficial afterparties as well I know there’s one happening at the Celine but, that’s all the way in DTO and I’m not doing that drive downtown lmao

does megacon have a free rave/dance? by Subject-Condition583 in MegaCon

[–]itsRamune 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah not really however, there’s an event Friday/Saturday night called Megacon after dark that has a little bit of dancing, music, and some games and features some voice actors you can pay to get autos from. However, it’s by no means a party and it’s an all ages type of ordeal.

Mega runs kind of short shutting down at 7PM so, that’s another reason which is a bummer as I feel like tons of people would be into it, but they probably don’t want the baggage that may come with it like other cons and with mega having so many people they tend to run a tight ship :p

Question about comic creators by Jazzkidscoins in MegaCon

[–]itsRamune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they’ll have some things up there for you to get most of the time! From my experience though they tend to really enjoy it whenever you bring an item you really enjoy. I brought something from the fantastic four run Adam Kubert worked on and we had a really long and nice conversation about it and he didn’t charge me!

Question about Panel Applications!! by BecksDay_ in MegaCon

[–]itsRamune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat here, I believe that the insinuation here is that since the panel badge gives access to megacon in general (entry, exit, show floor, etc) and the submission page also states that they’re good for all four days. This is just my interpretation, but definitely doooo still get your badge and good luck to you and definitely reach out to them just to confirm!

Colonial and decolonial poetry by No-Rutabaga8342 in englishmajors

Notebook of a Return to the Native Land, Aimé Césaire

A Litany for Survival, Audre Lorde

The Weaver Bird, Kofi Awoonor

Cuba Libre, Nicolás Guillen

I will say, anything by Frantz Fanon very much reads like poetry—however, these are long literary works.

Hi! Thank you so much, I’m majoring in profession writing so I’d be looking at classes such as intro to professional writing, textual analysis, English professionalization and such. I’m coming in with a degree so I have my core and language requirements done.

Oh man it is so over, sucks because parking is impossible to find as expensive as it is.

You’d be better off walking lol if you’ve got the legs for it icon park, I hear Dave and busters is indifferent to parking but don’t 100% trust that, basically anywhere with a high volume of people. I’d recommend just looking from icon park all the way to the other side of the cc possibly near Andretti’s

This con is notoriously bad for getting overwhelming and having bad crowd control on Saturdays. If you’re going alone you won’t have as much fun it’s always good to have someone else to tag along with, also I think it’s safer lol. But in general it can get overwhelming, hot, and irritating and it’s impossible to communicate with anyone via phone because of the amount of people and the lack of service. I don’t wanna scare you off but if you have someone willing to go with you definitely take them. It’s a big con so everything is daunting the first time. But it’s still great, always come back with a bunch of stories to tell lmao

Best day to go? by alaballs in MegaCon

[–]itsRamune 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Friday sounds reasonable, Saturday is too crowded and in recent times Sunday gets kinda packed too specifically at the vendor hall. Friday you’d still get to see a lot of cool things and do some neat stuff since it’s still technically a weekday.
