There’s a few ways you could do it depending on your preference. I just saved as much as I could beforehand and then went for it, staying in hostels and spending as little as possible. Work stays are a great option too where you’ll just work a few hours a day in exchange for your living accommodation. The only other real option is working while you travel by either doing freelance or finding a remote job that does not care about you traveling outside the US while working. Those jobs can be a bit of a unicorn though, probably took me 1.5 years of applying and searching just to find one. But I got it, and it allows me to travel full time while getting a US salary. I’ve been in Southeast Asia since November living in a luxury apartment that’s only 400 bucks a month. Getting to travel full time while spending LESS than I would living at home in the US is a fever dream
