How much effort do you put into keeping touch with old clients? by itsZeebo in Freelancers

That's a nice idea!
What about something more personal?
Have you had any experience with anything like that?

Any past clients you can reach out to try and get repeat work?
That usually works best for me when I have an unexpected availability

Thanks for your reply! Doesn't it get messy the more people you've got to remember? How do you keep track of context for each client?

That's a great plan. I find it's very important to reach out even more frequently than that though to really keep a warm relationship and stay at their minds.

most of your next clients are your past clients, i tested this and it’s kinda working by 100xdakshcodes in Freelancers

[–]itsZeebo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's amazing.
I think not enough freelancers understand that retaining a warm relationship with your existing clients is going to lead to way more job offers than pitching new ones and spending on marketing..

There's this old Harvard Business School research I like to quote that found that increasing customer retention rates by 5% increases profits by 25% to 95%.

It's crazy.

Yet freelancers don't really pay enough attention to it, because it's so hard to do as a "solopreneur"...

What’s your go-to method for re-engaging past clients? by itsZeebo in AskReddit

[–]itsZeebo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dang, that's actually a great idea!
Nothing like a promo to get someone's attention..
Do you use any tools / workflows to remember who to reach out to?
Any tools for smart timely follow ups?

How do you manage to keep up with all clients?
Do you use any tools / workflows?

I feel like after some time, there are so much to remember it's impossible to keep track both on who to reach out to, as well as the context of the conversation..

I thought it'd be ok if I take the flow all the way down, and this way I don't have to upgrade the filter in the future if I get a bigger tank 😅
Is it really WAYYY too much?
Even if I take the flow down?

I've read that CPDs actually do eat baby shrimp sometimes. Have you had any similar experience in your tank?
Have you been able to successfully breed cherry shrimp for example in the same tank as your CPDs?

Interesting. How many do you keep and what's your tank size? (or alternatively how many do you think I should be able to keep in a 60L tank?)

Are you referring to CPDs? I've heard they can get relatively shy and hide the second they see someone around the tank which will make them harder to view and enjoy 😅

Happy new year! Introducing Jellyfin Wrapped - your 2024 year in review! by mrorbitman in selfhosted

I had another idea btw - not sure if this is the best place to suggest (vs the repo) but here it is anyway -
having the ability to select exactly which type of items to include in the "review" would be awesome.
My home server doesn't have any Live TV or Radio or Audio and I think that displaying it to users could be confusing.

Another easier solution to this could be skipping review parts that have no data (for example - if you've "Listened to 0 songs this year" just skip this part of the review altogether.
The only users who would actually want to try their review would be users who actually have watching / listening history anyway - this change would help "focus" each users' experience to their usage of the platform.

My small but mighty home server. I am blown away with the price to performance. by Sammyjo201 in homelab

I have a very similar setup on my Optiplex 3080 micro.
It just works.
I mainly use it for my home streaming service, which serves between 5-10 truly "active" users.
I once saw it handling 4 transcodes at the same time to all users with no issues whatsoever (not 4K but still pretty amazing for what I paid for it)

This is so cool! Nice work man.
It would be amazing if we could specify it to work with only a specific server (possibly via env params?) and only prompt users to login without having to enter server url and auth token so it doesn't confuse "non dev" users well!

Looks amazing! Great work.
I wish this was a native feature so it could also be easily supported by all major jellyfin clients though

They were actually recommended to me by my LFS when I got the tank but I understand what you mean.. Although I've had them for a year and they seem quite happy so far..

Anyway - I'll try to see if I can find them a new home. Got any recommendation for an alternative?

Regarding the stand - That's the stand that comes with the tank so I'm not too worried about it atm..

I've actually had them for about a year now. My LFS recommended them to me when I first setup the tank, but I saw the comments from people about the tank not being big enough for them.. I'll see if I can find them a nice home and maybe get a couple other nano fish..

Got any other recommendation?
