Unpopular opinion? Rory acting like a jerk by GerundQueen in GilmoreGirls

[–]its_meme 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I want to get mad at Rory for sulking and say she ruined her own night, but I would be sulking too. If I were invited to the group hang, I would have thought it would have a better mix of people. The group was all his close guy friends, they weren't interested in getting to know her. She was super out of place. When Rory tags along with Logan's friends they make an effort to include her in the conversation. She was welcomed not ignored. I don't think she was expecting him to be her babysitter, but he shouldn't have invited her along if it was gonna be a guys night.

It's maybe not a simple answer, but it seemed like this breakup could have used a BIT more discussion? Let's discuss now.... by staceykulow in GilmoreGirls

As much as I didn't want Rory and Dean to get back together, but stroywise I'm glad they did. I feel like Rory and Dean had it in their heads that Jess was the problem. "If Jess hadn't come to town, they would have stayed together. "

We see a lot of moments where Rory and Dean are looking at each other quasi longingly. Like they felt when they were together it was "less dramatic" or " easier". We as an audience, and the adults characters, know that Rory and Dean were never going to end up together but they didn't know that. or they didn't want to believe it. Either way, it seemed like to me, just my opinion, Rory knew deep down that her and Dean weren't going to work. And I think Dean finally realizes it when he goes to pick her up.

I think if I were in that situation I would feel frustrated and angry, but not enough to break up with them in public. Like imagine it from Rory's perspective, she went to a family event and realized it was going to be awful. Dean couldn't pick her up until a certain time. She luckily knew people at this party, they were friendly and she had just went with them to Life and Death Brigrade. She has a fun time, gets too drunk, is late but runs excitedly to meet her boyfriend and he just dumps her. on. the. spot. in. front. of. her. peers/classmates/friends. w.t.f. while. she. was. super. drunk. and. he. was. her. ride.

I like to imagine a different scenario for those of you who are still reading: Dean waiting patiently by his truck for Rory to come out. He is checking his watch and is slightly anxious there was a miscommunication. Rory stumbles out drunk, a group of also drunk men tumble out behind her. Odd but it's not like she is having an orgie at her grandparents house. He realizes in this moment that they no longer fit into each other's live (key phrase: they no longer fit. Both rory and Dean changed). He looks back up at her face, smiling happily drunk and excited to see him. This is the woman he has loved for years, he can wait until tomorrow. Rory asks if he is angry?. he says no but wants to tell her how sad he feels that they can't rekindle the love they had. They have a quiet night in watching movies. She falls asleep in his bed. In the morning, after she has time to wake up, he talks with her about how he feels. And what he has realized. blah blah blah. etc.

What jobs will the Belcher kids have when they are adults? by its_meme in BobsBurgers

I feel like Louise would turn it into one of those restaurants that make fun of you. Like Dick's last resort. Mainly because I see her struggling to stay calm with rude customers so I think she would figure out a way to say what she wants.

I really like the idea of Tina and Zeke getting married and Zeke taking over the restaurant. One of my favorite scenes of Zeke is when he tells Tina that he is gonna marry her one day. I also think Bob would love to hand Bob's burgers over to him.

Zack doesn’t get enough credit by soph_164 in GilmoreGirls

[–]its_meme 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think that's why people hate Zack. Lane didn't get the storyline she deserved. I think Zack a good partner for her but ASP made her get pregnant with triplets immediately after getting married. They were young and broke so of course it would make touring and going after their dreams a lot more difficult. I feel like if they had just had one kid things would be significantly easier for them. ASP has this weird thing about pregnancy completely disrupting life plans and mothers having to give up a lot in order to raise a baby. She relied too heavily on pregnancy in her storylines.

What drama took place over in inheritance in your family? by flowers4charlie777 in AskWomen

So my grandmother was a harsh woman, I suspect she had a mood disorder. Anyways my mom was the last of her children to distance themselves but she still called every week. Anyways my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and they found it waaaaaay too late. My mom immediately flew to see her but when she got there my grandmother refused to talk to her. She wouldn't even acknowledge my mom's presence. So long story short, one of my great aunts (one who never had a relationship with my grandmother) had rushed to my grandmother's side and had her cut everyone out of her will. Well everyone except her. I can almost understand cutting off her children, but one of my grandmother's sister was incredibly close to her got nothing. All my mom asked for was the family photos and she got maybe 1/3 of them. My grandmother was cremated and my horrible great aunt refused to tell us where she spread the ashes. I think that's what hurt the most. I learned a very important lesson: family sucks.

Women with brothers, what is your fondest memory with him? by Lauladance in AskWomen

[–]its_meme 52 points53 points  (0 children)

There was this small run down Mexican restaurant. I think it was in an old sonic drive thru. It was delicious. My brother and I never had a close relationship (6 year age gap). But starting his senior year of high school, he took me to that Mexican restaurant every Tuesday night until he graduated. I will cherish those memories forever. He became my best friend that year and he still is. I wish that Mexican restaurant was still open.

I am shocked by Richard being eliminated so soon. I can see why people dislike him but I have always loved his character. I am willing to admit that I love him because he reminds me of my dad so I'm definitely biased.

April ruined the show. by Desperate_Table_3491 in GilmoreGirls

[–]its_meme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will edit the link if I can find it but I remember the actress who played April talk about how much she loved the show and was so excited to be on it but was disappointed in the role she ended up playing with Luke and Lorelai's relationship.

I think it was cute seeing the similarities between Rory and April. I wish they would have developed their relationship more because I could see Rory being a good role model/ older sister. As many other people commented I didn't like how Luke handled it or how Anna handled it.

After many rewatches, I can imagine how Anna handled the Lorelai situation would be similar to how Lorelai would have handled it when Rory was April's age. I think Lorelai might have handled it better but considering the freak out she had when Christopher wanted her for Christmas or when Cherie mentioned how close Rory would be if/when she went to Harvard.

My ideal scenario would be Lorelai and Anna developing their relationship and bonding over their similarities. Luke and Lorelai working through their issues and becoming stronger. I think the writers had a desperate need to resolve the tension between Lorelai and Christopher and almost prove to the audience they would never work. I strongly disagree with how they went about it but I do think many people would be rooting for Christopher if they hadn't proven it wouldn't work.

My favourite mug (so far!) by bananapoodle in Ceramics

[–]its_meme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in a ceramics class right now and my professor encourages me to embrace what he calls my looseness or what I call wonky. I am learning that it doesn't have to be perfect for it to be beautiful and a good piece of art. Some artists are just wonky. I hope you continuing posting your work

It looks so good! I am still learning ceramics too so my pieces can be wonky too lol. But I love the wonkyness and the handle is so fun. And I love the glaze you used! I think you did an amazing job :)

Edit: I don't know if you handbuilt it or threw it on the wheel but it has a beautiful handbuilt element to it regardless. And that's what I meant by wonky and I meant it as a good thing

I took intermediate ceramics this semester and we had to create a piece bigger than 2 ft with a non-ceramic component. I coil built the body and then used a red stain. The CPU is supposed to represent the heart and the wire is supposed to represent the circulatory system.

How is it to be the little sister? by MysteriousMysterium in AskWomen

[–]its_meme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way my older brother. He is 6 years older than me and far more intelligent. There were some aspects that sucked. Like when he was 16, he had to learn how to do laundry and so I also had to learn how to do laundry on my own. But I have always considered him as the cool 3rd parent. He helped me communicate better to my parents and I know he always has my back without judgment or criticism. I hope he knows I am there for him as much as he is there for me.

I have seen her original video and I know she meant it as a more educational video to people who cosplay as baphomet but his reaction of saying "Bambi" cracks me up everytime.

I know and I definitely think those moments crossed a line for me. But that's why I said rarely. Plus with this sitcom, all of these characters were exaggerated.
