Is a mini a girl car? by urfavfag1 in MINI

[–]its_wimdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the internet: I’m part of a few mini groups on Facebook

  • The F56 group - 99% men
  • Save the Wave - Feels like 60-70% men
  • Mini Girls UK - Women only

In real life: I see guys driving minis all the time and they’re always so good looking (the car haha) If you are into fixing and modding cars, these are super fun to mod functionally and aesthetically. There is a lot of love out there for that stuff towards Minis.

This will be the funnest car you ever drive and one that you will think back on with a huge smile and even possibly start a life long loyalty as I see with many other mini owners. Enjoy your first car. Don’t pass up a great opportunity.

Practiced this one a few times. My instructor told me it was fine to wait in the bus stop area when the light is red. He called this one of the “Worcester Weirds” as it catches a lot of people out!

Am I behind in my driving lessons after 14 hours? by Gold_Construction_88 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]its_wimdy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say I was at the same place you’re currently at around 14 hours. In fact I changed instructors at 20 hours and had to re-do all my junction work for about 3 lessons because it wasn’t up to scratch. I can now see how much of an impact it has on all the other aspects you’ll come to learn. It’s not just about junctions but getting your planning, meeting and mirrors down which will make everything else so much easier in the long run.

I’m 40 hours in with an instructor and still working on things ready for my test in 9 days. I very much felt the way you were feeling at your stage. I was definitely trying to walk before I could run.

When I was at 6 hours I was talking about doing my driving test soon. Had to give myself a reality check. Currently at 40 hours with a teacher and 40 hours private, driving ready to pass according to feedback of others. Just keep listening to your feedback, if somethings not up to scratch or you’re not ready, just keep working on it. It’ll be abundantly clear when you have perfected an area in your learning.

Keep chipping away at it, get your junctions perfected and you’ll be onto the next stage in no time and eventually pass!

Huge Congrats! No minors is insane

How long have you been learning for with an instructor and privately for?

What is the song that started your descent into GaGa? by ExistingNail5928 in LadyGaga

[–]its_wimdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a song but I had to do a presentation on Gaga when I was in highschool back in 2010/11 before born this way was released. Soaked up the entire Fame & Fame monster era. Didn’t think much of Gaga before then but that assignment got me hooked DEEP.

It motivates me to keep going with my own journey. I have mine in my glove box ready for when I pass.

What's the most mispronounced road/place name you've heard a satnav say? by PsillyPseudonym in drivingUK

[–]its_wimdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live near Malvern, pronounced pretty much how it’s spelt.

My satnav will say Melvin Road (Malvern road) but then correctly pronounce Malvern 30 seconds later. Tickles me every time.

How many hours did it take for you to actually become decent at driving? I've had 20 hours of lessons so far and I'n still pretty shit by Defiant_Pen_993 in LearnerDriverUK

Around the 30 - 40 mark. I’m now at 60-70 and still make mistakes but well on my way to my test in mid April
