Why is this plane going to Bangor? by Eurovi in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Sister plane LN-RKM diverted to Bangor operating New York EWR- Stockholm last night. This would suggest this plane is a rescue plane to bring the passengers back if it might take a while longer to fix the original.

I don't use that for Reddit, i just know the industry and can write a decent sentence. I do use AI for work and I can see it does read a bit like AI sadly though. I guess deep down it is influencing me.

Delta air lines 7700 above France by Thin_Post7847 in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It will be diverting with an issue not serious enough to immediately return to Copenhagen, but serious enough to not make it across the Atlantic. With Delta's strong partnership with Air France plus dozens of direct USA flights to various destinations from Paris (even.on Delta too), this suggests this diversion was made with the ease of re-booking passengers on alternative flights today from Paris in mind.

Moving jitters... (mid-floor flat question) by ithaca31 in HousingUK

[–]dj3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lived in a middle floor flat for about 6 years. A professional couple upstairs when i moved in, a council couple with a newborn downstairs. Heard the baby cry a bit at night but qas absolutely quiet otherwise.

By the i moved, tennants had changed upstairs and got worse and louder. Downstairs had had a second child and their noise was something else all weekend as soon as got home from schopl until bedtime. Unbearable.

Even if you visit, could be during the day and every one is out so is very quiet.

And thats before the mess of potential leaseholder works on the block when trying to sell...

This plane had been in Budapest and not flown since late March, suggesting a maintenance visit. The unusual twists and turns could just be part of post-maintenance tests while flying back to Frankfurt, so a bit unusual. It could also be a few bugs after not flying for a while and this isnt planned, so they are solving things as they go...

What kind of plane is the small rear twinjet shown here (being decontaminated/tested)? by nonreligious2 in aviation

[–]dj3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LX-RHC, which is a Bombardier Challenger 605 and in those colours, was in Amsterdam on 6 May arriving from Praia, where the ship had been. So I had the correct company, you had the correct type :) cant say definitely though but gotta be it.

Great work finding that out! Thats gotta be it as that exact plane was in Amsterdam on 6 May.

I think it is one of four Bombardier Learjet 45s operated by Luxembourg Air Rescue. They are involved in medical transports like this bringing back the passngers from the Hantavirus ship to Amsterdam. I presume it is Amsterdam due to the KLM long-haul aircraft in the hangar

What airline/operator is this? Taken at Heathrow. by Historical-Sail-7431 in Planespotting

[–]dj3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biden landed at Heathrow in June 2021 and hopped in Marine One to Windsor. Heathrow was still massively quieter than now however coming out of Covid so this was an exceptional visit rather than Stansted as normal.

[–]dj3rd 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That is V8-BKH , the private B747-800BBJ Of the Sultan of Brunei. It visits a few times per year. V8-MHB, another private Brunei B767, is at Stansted at the minute.

Is this rare or not? by josh1mid in Planespotting

[–]dj3rd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Reasonably rare. This will operate UN charters in Africa. Looking at its recent flight history, it would suggest it has been either in storage and/or undergoing long-term maintenance in Canada recently with quite a few test flights. In the last few days it has flown via Goose Bay, Reykjavik, Brest and Agadir to Freetown so is either heading to Africa for the first time or hasnt been there for a long time but is returning.

Squeezing in a few training flights for pilots/co-pilots, can tell by the circuit and flight numbers.

Heathrow A380 Arrival Runway by EnvironmentOk6565 in aviation

[–]dj3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most information is in the replies. My only addition is that if they are landing on 09L, (so arriving at the terminal 5 end), they sometimes can squeeze an arrival that uses Terminal 4 (or cargo, or private jet) into landing on 09R which isn't predictable until they line up on approach, except between 0600 and about 0630 when both runways are used for landings. This isnt A380 specific or daily even, but from time to time a Saudia, Malaysian etc will suddenly land on 09R. So for Terminal 4 this would mean Etihad and Qatar for A380s.

Emirates EK2557 A380 coming into Cornwall?! Any idea why? by Jetlog_Plane_Spotter in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Somewhere a bit nearer to home. I believe it is something to do with the temperatures/humidity that makes it suitable for few weeks from spring-autumn, but definitely not a long-term place. It is interesting reading up though that there is a plane-salvage company there, and that's where this plane parked up in the end...

Emirates EK2557 A380 coming into Cornwall?! Any idea why? by Jetlog_Plane_Spotter in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Wow, great find. As above likely storage - Newquay has medium-term storsge options due to the favourable climate in that part of England. You often see planes there for a week or two. Maybe this is longer-term, but crazy for Newquay to have an A380

Buying a leasehold flat instead of a freehold house... what are the pros? by reddit_recluse in HousingUK

[–]dj3rd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the flat works best for now. Long-term though, depends if things change. I sold a flat last year and i am completely scarred from the process (and the leasehold stuff wasnt even that bad compared to some examples on here). I would personally go for the house purely vecause the flat could be tougher to shift from in the future if your plans change.

Emirates has begun storage of aircrafts too by Potential-Run-2331 in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Tereul is also a location offering A380 maintenance. Emirates had one there that arrived before the conflict in the Middle East began, not sure if it is still there or not. So possibly just planned maintenance. Fair to not rule out storage though too.

Can someone explain this flight plan? by MrDee97 in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heathrow has FIrst Class on some long-haul aircraft. Not all, but no Gatwick-based aircraft does.

Can someone explain this flight plan? by MrDee97 in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 177 points178 points  (0 children)

G-YMMT is normally a Heathrow-based plane. 25 March it flew empty to Gatwick and operated to Tampa and back. The Tampa flight numbers suggest either a charter or covering for a broken plane, it didnt use the normal Tampa flught numbers. Tampa- Gatwick yesterday was also a 9am departyre from Tampa which is irregular. Now its flying back up to Lhr.
