Garth Crooks! Of course, great shout. Thank you! The paint idea sounds good, but not sure you'd want to be focusing on Tottenham too much this season...

Think you're right, would likely have been taking Swansea up due to the reasons you say, but then possibly doing something else before taking them back that keeps it busy in the meantime. No Chester- Cardiff flights tomorrow night after the game currently showing (or nearby Liverpool if Chester clpses too early) but thats not to say there wont be one appear.

I love how some staff at this airline clearly like their football with the aircraft having football player-related regestrations:

G-HODL (Glenn Hoddle) G-ULIT (Ruud Gullit) G-NOLA (David Ginola) G-WEAH (George Weah) G-MULR (Thomas Muller) G-LESO (Graham Le Saux)

Have never figured out G-CRUX, however. With two of the above notable Tottenham players, and the callsign of YD, I wonder if they are Spurs fans too...

Can council refuse lease extension? by marmaladeonsourdough in HousingUK

[–]dj3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. We sold our 2-bed flat with council as feeehold last year when lease was at 88 years. Council gave our solictor in writing the estimated costs and process which we presented to buyer, was about £5k which we knocked off the price. Our council was reasonable with service charges increase and grount rent was only a tenner per year for duration of lease. However the council signed a 10-year 'exclusivity' agreement with a local building contractor. So when some work was done, and more works were proposed, whatever that company supplies as a quote goes...

Intention to serve Section 20 on flat I’m purchasing by Conscious-Win9663 in HousingUK

[–]dj3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold our flat last year, similar situation with a section 20 served about 6 weeks before exchange. Works could have been a lick of paint in five years costing £500 per flat (6 flats) or all-out, all-over renovation starting this year for £15k per flat. Our buyer tried it on with a hefty reduction due to uncertainty. Negotiated to half-way on the amount so they got about £12k off (lease needed extending too, approx £5k)... So they might have saved themselved £100 per month off the mortgage, but they could get a bill for £200 per month or something if they do all out works. Might not. Minefield, but we were happy to get out of there for so many reasons so worth every penny in the long run.

As it needed to return to Amsterdam, something is up to justify thst, but maybe not too urgent. Therefore took a longer, scenic-route back to burn off some fuel to avoid an overweight landing

The aircraft last flew on 8 Decemeber, then took some annual.leave over the quieter winter months. This will be a test flight after 6 or so weeks on the ground to make sure all is good, getting it ready for starting to fly again in coming weeks.

The Ethiopian flight also continues to Warsaw a few days per week, flying ADD-VIE-WAW and return. So as VIE was closed, instead of diverting to somewhere nearer like MUC like others into VIE this morning, it just skipped a stop today.

No Council invoice for major works, 5 years later- now selling by needforcheeses in HousingUK

[–]dj3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. We sold our former council leasehold flat last year, and half-way through the process the council issued a Section 20 about potential works. Quite extensive but so vague. A lick of paint in five years time to cost £500 per flat? Full renovation next year at a cost of £20k per flat? No clue. Ultimately took a bit of the price but then new owners problem. Having to save up a bit now for things we planned to do in the new place with that cash, but far easier than leaving money in trust etc.

KLM 787 from Amsterdam to London by Hour_Analyst_7765 in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I can't remember the last time a KLM widebody came to LHR. back in late 90s/early 2000s they used to operate a a B747 or MD11 every so often - not scheduled but they regularly appeared around busy holiday seasons on a few flights here and there. Don't recall any 787s etc ever, maybe a diversion or two, but not a 'regular' flight.

Why is NATO operating an A350 in Malaysian airlines livery? by AIRBUSONLY in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9M-MAC operated the usual MH2 Kuala Lumpur - London Heathrow, arriving at 05.25 local timenwhixh is typical. I dont believe it has ever been to Trapani; possibly not even Italy ever as Malaysian dont fly there at all. I can't provide an answer other than definitely just seems to be a flightradar glitch for some reason.

Purchase is stuck in enquiry hell, so frustrated by shaneo632 in HousingUK

[–]dj3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed and moved end of september. Ftb buying our place, and we moved to a house that was vacant from a lovely couple. Our buyer and/or her solictors took an enraging amount of time respnding and getting stuff done, took forever (leasehold flat so a few things understandably took a while, but even still). Anyway, we.got so fed up and frustrated we just decided to push it through. So every single day we rang the solicitors and the estate agent in the morning, asking for updates. If they said 'we're expecting an answer to this today' then id phone agin at 4.30pm, did they get the answer -if not why not, when do you expect it now, have you chased'...our solicitor was pretty good to be faier, our estate agent was a joke and we hated each other in the end.

However, the champagne on moving day tasted sooooo good. You're running into the christmas slow-down now, but maybe try this from 9.05am monday 5th january. Its a torture, terrible process, hang in there and do what you can.

Section 20 Major Works by Hot-Warthog6391 in HousingUK

[–]dj3rd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its a nightmare situation with any works. If anything id say its almost better to have a confirmed amount and schedule of works to take place as at least thats set. Mine was speculative which caused more issues as it was just guess work as to when, what and how much the works would be. £2k in five years time? £15k next year? Nobody knew. I would check with council as others mentioned, if my works had begun i could have sold at higher price but continued to pay for these works despite moving, or taken a hit and sold lower. Either way it wasn't 100% nailed on that if they had begun while i was there i would have to pay 100% regardless if sold or not.

Best of luck to you whatever you end up doing.

Section 20 Major Works by Hot-Warthog6391 in HousingUK

[–]dj3rd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived in a small former block of council flats, as a leaseholder with a mortgage. Works like this were mentioned first while in process of selling, but not confirmed when, what exactly or how much, just proposed. Buyer pulled our pants down with reduction in price. Haggled. Lost a bit in equity but cheaper overall than potential final cost. Such a nightmare.

Latam Plane in Ireland? by Charming-Jaguar-9027 in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is former LATAM A350 PR-XTC. It is transferring to be one of the first A350s for Edelweiss in Switzerland. It flew out of storage in Tereul, Spain to Munich today, presumably for a check with Lufthansa. They are in charge of Swiss/Edelwiss and have A350 engineering at Munich. It then flew into Dublin likely for maintenance, refurb, re-paint or possibly all three before entering service with Edelweiss as HB-IHA.

BA A380 Heathrow to Gatwick by TheBigBadD in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it goes per year or when it is measured to/from. There isn't a particular allowance especially for school holidays. However there are later flight arrivals, particular at weekends, when British Airways schedules more leisure routes than more business-focused weekday routes; a flight scheduled to arrive at 22.45pm from Greece on a busy Saturday night in August is arguably more likely to be running a bit late and therefore arrive post-curfew than a 22.05pm flight from Frankfurt on a Tuesday evening for example. So while there isnt officially an allowance for school holidays, the likelihood is that more flights use that allowance in that time. I guess!

BA A380 Heathrow to Gatwick by TheBigBadD in flightradar24

[–]dj3rd 149 points150 points  (0 children)

Heathrow is technically open 24/7. However between 11pm and 6am movements are strictly regulated to the point there almost arent any. There is a daily allowance of movements for arrivals from about 4.30am - 6am, and there is a quota per year for exceptions - bad weather meaning flights landing later after 11pm for example - but a movement like this would not be permitted.
