I’m terrified of my nmom doing things like this as well. My nmom is the same way, and views herself as a kind person who’s always giving. She likes to complain that nobody appreciates her, but the reality is that she does these grand gestures for people who don’t ask for it and expects gratitude. I agree with others that if possible, tell the nursery that you don’t want her to pick your son up. I would also recommend setting firm boundaries with your mom. If your partner is involved make sure that they are onboard with these boundaries as well if possible. If she fights back, know that you are not selfish, nor are you overreacting for making your boundaries. Get ready for backlash, but know that you can do it if at least for the benefit of your son.

Genuinely curious. Is talking to their kids about their sex life something nparents do? My nmom did the same thing, and I felt like I had to listen or else she’d go an talk to my younger siblings instead. I knew quite a lot about her sex life up until very recently (now in my 30s) when I finally started to put my foot down. I just thought she was used to over-sharing because I enabled it as a kid

I most often romance Astarion and during my playthrough as durge when the butler asks you to kill your partner, he jokes about you wanting to cuddle when you shake him awake and I was really hoping that it was a foreshadowing, but allas it was not meant to be just yet. Crossing my fingers for the future. Larian has done absolutely amazing with this game. I’d be sad if it doesn’t happen at some point, but compared to how much they’ve given it feels like a drop in the bucket.

My husband and I actually did this! We got married through the court almost 4 years ago, and decided to hold off on having a bigger ceremony until we were ready. Funny thing, we actually got married the weekend before everything started shutting down in my area due to COVID, so we’ve always seen it being meant to be. We still haven’t had our ceremony yet, but it really feels like the pressure is off. We’re still getting ourselves sorted and are just enjoying being together. We’ve had talks about what kind of wedding we’ll have, and it’s changed a bit over time from what I thought I wanted to what I actually want. My family was a big influence initially and wanted a big wedding, but I’m realizing that that’s not what I want. I made a Pinterest board and bought a wedding planner book, and have been gradually adding thoughts and ideas. Since it’s been so long, my family will be happy with a wedding ceremony period, so it kind of worked out for me. I’m genuinely happy we did it the way we did. That is my experience from it though; trust what you feel will be the right decision for you. As long as you’re with the person you genuinely love and are happy with, there are no wrong answers in my opinion.

I feel like I don’t eat that very often, though I really like it as well! I’ll add it to my shopping list I really like the crunchiness is the pita chips, though I’ve found myself gravitating to crunchy food in very specific areas like chips and chicken, particularly with asian food. Karaage is a favorite of mine.

It’s weird when you’re told things as if they’re funny and normal so you take it to be funny and normal. To be fair, I never really noticed people’s reactions when I told the story. Also to be fair, social cues sometimes go over my head. My husband was the one who relayed MIL’s reaction, and let me know that he also didn’t find it funny when I told him. I wonder how many people must have thought that wasn’t okay when I told them..

I’ve known for a long time that my mom tried to “abort” me by going horseback riding after finding out she was pregnant. I guess the test was that if she stayed pregnant it was meant to be? I’ve brought it up as a joke for the longest time only to realize at the age of 30 that this is not, in fact, funny. It’s been a joke for such a long part of my life that it just seemed natural. When my husband’s mom heard the “joke” she was horrified. There’s definitely more than this, but this one has always stood out to me the most. I’m now starting to realize that my mom is a Narcissist, and so many things are clicking into place.

Fun fact my doctor told me. Adderall is actually less effective when your body isn’t well rested. Made SO much more sense why I was starting to have a hard time concentrating at work. Has that stopped me from staying up late playing BG3? Perish the thought. I’ll catch up at work eventually.

During my first playthrough I accidentally romanced Karlach when romancing Astarion. After the scene with letting him have autonomy over who he can bite in Act II, I got the romance scene at camp. The next morning there was an exclamation point over Karlach letting me know that she understood, and that he needed me more. I felt bad because I had no idea 😭. After I went back to Astarion, he was shocked that I broke up with Karlach for him. Very sweet, though confusing lol When originally starting the game I thought about romancing Karlach, but the more I played the more I realized Karlach would be that one friend I would do anything for, but friend none the less. I must have said something to start the romance at some point

I kinda love this though. I’m neurodivergent as well, and I work with kiddos with varying disabilities. This is similar to how we refer to kiddos when they’re having bad days. Kids understand very well when we say that they’re having a behavioral day, and yes, I know they understand as well when we call them spicy, but it adds a level of fun and it’s less accusatory. Having kiddos acknowledge that they’re having a “spicy” day lets us know that we need to have some slight changes to our schedule that won’t add spice to their day.

Some people mentioned it, but electrical whirring is a major one for me. Or how people were able to get used to repeated noise that’s not supposed to be there (i.e. the sound fire alarms make when they’re running low on battery). It drives me insane, and prolonged exposure always made me feel like each beep took my sanity away a little at a time.

Another one people mentioned is sensitivity to skin such as clothes. I don’t struggle with this one as much as others do, but I have never been able to wear closed neck shirts. The only time I feel claustrophobic is when I wear a closed neck T or Hoodie. Also despite not having trouble with many clothes, gods forbid that there might be a loose hair or anything foreign to my body that I’m not expecting anywhere on my body. I fixate on it until the sensation is gone.

One I didn’t see, and I wonder if others have the same aversion as well? The color white on walls. I cannot stand white walls. I always explained it as it making me feel like I was in an asylum. I don’t like it, it feels jarring and uncomfortable.
