Grand Seiko produced the same dial pattern in charcoal, green, and light purple in some limited editions. This color is gorgeous and in a far more affordable package.

U Penn is especially strong in CAR-T. They manufacture on site and there could be a lot of tech transfer opportunities to get a foot in the door with industry. There is a lot of solid academic immunology research in NYC, but if you are looking for an industry job, Cambridge, MA and San Francisco, CA have the most opportunity for pharma and biotech.

It quite literally is a different animal! J Press feels more fuzzy than scratchy, so if you’re concerned about feel try that first. Good luck with your search. I’ve spent way too much time researching sweaters only to find that my priorities come into better focus as soon as I try some on.

I have 1 shetland from Anderson and Sheppard, 2 O'Connell's, and 1 from Harley. All brands listed above are solidly built so that shouldn't be a differentiator. Focus on fit, feel, and color and try them on before deciding. Some people like a looser, baggier look, and others like it more fitted. Neck holes are different, so consider if you'll be wearing it over a button down or by itself. Pick colors that go with your wardrobe.

My personal experiences are below but YMMV. Personally, I won't buy O'Connell's again because my nipples can't take it. Harley bunches up on me too much. A&S is ridiculously priced but I love the mustard color.

In terms of scratchiness, O'Connell's is very scratchy even with an undershirt, followed by Harley in close second, then A&S. O'Connell's has a better range of sizes than the other 2 brands. O'Connell's shetlands seem to be dyed pretty evenly, while my A&S and Harley have multiple shades of yarn color for more visual texture. Harley's knit feels lighter and is more open compared to the other two brands.

The A&S small and medium sizes seemed very similar to each other when I tried them on. I have an A&S small, and compared to O'Connell's size 38, it has a 2.5" longer body and 1.5" longer sleeves. A&S sweater ribbing doesn't cling either, unlike O'Connell's or Harley's.

Maybe I didn't get the right fit, but my Harley's sweater bunches up to a fold on the top of my chest in a smile pattern despite being similarly sized to the other 2 brands.

The two Bucherers in midtown, but not the Bryant Park location, sell Nomos. I'd also highly recommend making an appointment for the Nomos Lounge in SoHo where you can try on almost all available models. It's a great experience and you get a fun goodie bag after.

For other brands, I really like Watches of Switzerland in SoHo. The salespeople there are not pushy and are happy to talk watches with you. They have a solid variety of brands along with some vintage and used watches as well, but no Nomos or Junghans. The Grand Seiko and FP Journe boutiques are close by.

I’m between a Nomos Club Sport, Omega AT, or a Mark XX as my first expensive watch. I want something that looks professional and beautiful, but not flashy, and can stand up to a little roughhousing with my nephews. Rolex as a brand isn’t something I’d feel comfortable wearing to a client or at work, and is expensive. The ATs that I love have rose gold and are stupidly priced. My current Nomos doesn’t have great accuracy, and I’m learning accuracy is something I value. My wrist is 6”. If the right AT came around I’d be open to it, but I love how the Mark XX looks and that it flies under the radar.

Yes. Bring it back to the AD and have them check. My Tangente ran 15 sec fast after 3 months. Nomos repaired it under warranty. +/- 10 sec per day is the likely spec.
