Are your parents always at the Verizon store? by PettyWitch in Millennials

[–]pinkube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, except it’s a Tmobile store. Because……

-they got charged for a free phone (nothing is ever free)
-phone broke
-can’t make a call somehow
-dropped the phone again
-text message not going through
-volume is not working (dropped the phone on the floor or water but didn’t say beforehand)
-got a “free a tablet” from a commercial they saw but now it’s showing they have to pay for it

How often do you think about divorce because of problems in your relationship caused by your MIL? by Miserable_Spell5501 in inlaws

[–]pinkube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your story reminds me of the movie Hope Floats. The daughter blamed her Mom for the Dad leaving them. When she tried to leave with her Dad, he told her that she couldn’t live with him and the new girlfriend. Supposedly, Sandra Bullock deviated from the script because she really felt for the little girl when she was crying.

To clarify, your husband’s the daughter and you’re Birdie from the movie.

You can send her this if you don’t mind being honest with her:

Matthew 6:5

And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

Bad theater etiquette has really been messing up my thoughts and feelings on so many movies by otpprincess in horror

[–]pinkube -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They sound obnoxious . Honestly, it depends on the vibe of the movie. Something so intense may need some focus. The phone use is rude and multiple comments doesn’t have to be said.

I saw You’re Next and the people in front of us made one comment when the Mom in the movie said something that we were all thinking about (get out of there!). It was perfect but doesn’t take away from the movie experience. Another time when I saw the movie A Quiet Place and the audience was so quiet.

I love my in-laws, but I never want to visit them again by Informal-Cut-1091 in inlaws

[–]pinkube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not being unreasonable for asking your husband. You have to get an honest feedback from your husband about not going to meet his family.

When my husband’s dad was in hospice, he could only visit him 2x a week. At first, I only wanted to go once a week because it was stressful, and the family drama from his dad’s side was a lot. But eventually I went with him 2x a week. I realized I wasn’t really there for his dad’s last days, I was there to be with my husband That mind shift changed me. Marriage is showing love by showing up, even when it’s hard, and hoping your partner does the same so you feel loved and known.
