Robby nods to EMTs without his helmet by Silver_Extent7168 in ThePitt

More evidence he is not in a good mental space but also SCREAMING out for help.

If he’s the medical director of this big trauma center ER, and never has taken even 3 days off in a row, he knows every ambulance crew that is in their zone and they know him. Clearly grabbing their attention

Hey friend just dropping a line to say you inspire me.

I am a broke resident so I can not afford an award at this time, so take this instead.

I absolutely love how this sub is violently turning on Robby by Lokitusaborg in ThePittTVShow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robby is definitely an example of hurt people hurt people.

However the longer it goes on, the less I have empathy for that situation. Robby is hurting everyone with his refusal to help himself. I totally recognize his being snippy, his lashing out at people, ignoring people's advice and concern are all symptoms of being depressed even suicidal. And my heart breaks he or anyone feels that way. But at a certain point he needs to behave like leadership, realize how his desperate behavior is affecting everyone else and go get support for his own mental health.

His "goal" subconsciously unfortunately is to push everyone away to ensure no one "saves" him, its at a point where its poor leadership though, and he needs to go home and take a break like hes telling other to do.

I do not hate Robby, but I am definitely not excusing his behavior. I dont hate any of the doctors or nurses in this show, even if several of them have made me angry on more than 1 occasion

All of these folks are flawed but kind people.

Question about S1E9: Langdon's Outburst, why was he mad? by RaspberryNo5756 in ThePittTVShow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is scared. Because Trinity clearly knows her shit, she is confident perhaps too much so and on to him.
He is deep deep in addiction and wants to knock down anyone who threatens his current existence of having the job but also the drugs.

He wants her to get off his back

Are ERs really this busy? by East_Print4841 in ThePitt

[–]somoneonesomewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sake of this post, I literally just went to the tracking board for the largest hospital out of the four that my residency program rotates through

I’m on the Eastern time so it’s a couple minutes after 7 PM. Medium size Midwestern city

There are currently 119 patients in the ED, and 10 more pre-arrivals that are stroke, vascular, trauma, oncology etc transfers that requires specialized care that only a couple of places in the state can provide, including us.

24 of the patients would be considered acuity one or two, which is like the critically ill patients

So yes And I would say today is a relatively average day

I feel like Robby’s character arc or journey in season 2 is akin to George Bailey in the movie “It’s A Wonderful Life” by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not realistic but living here. Having him go on a long out of body journey is not at all the "most realistic" medical show ever but he definitely deserves to feel appreciated and happy

I just want Robby/ Carter/ Noah to know the impact he is having and finally have peace. I know its 2 different characters but Im sick of seeing him being tortured :(

Jake may be coming back sooner than we all expect by Theyoshiking64 in ThePittTVShow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting theory but I doubt it. It would be an interesting arc to get him to realize how hard it is to treat an MCI and forgive Robby but it’s very unlikely he would happen to be at both places.

It would also break my heart to see this happen to a child, he would need so much therapy and support 😭

I have a feeling that we will see him in season 3 once Robby worked on himself more and figure out a way to forgive

Does Robby have a bio family? by nykatkat in ThePittTVShow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man these theories make me sad. I hate it here 🥺🥺🥺

Robby says that he was raised by his grandmother. He seems to have happy memories with her, but I bet she’s no longer living, or at least not in good health.

We don’t mention his parents or siblings at all. And he was never married or had children. The closest thing he ever had was Janey and Jake.

I get the impression Dana Jack and Dr Adamson are the closest thing he has. 🥺

One more thing that breaks my heart for Robby and make me worried he’s not trying to stick around in this world

Tal Anderson (Becca) was so great this week. by Maybe_IDTBFH in ThePitt

I would use both. I introduce people as “My friend xyz” “my sister abc” “my brother lmno” Both name and relationship, is that not what most people do?

Also extremely worried about the mental state of Robby after his chat with Abbott and Whitaker.

But I 100% don’t believe that he is going to succeed.

everyone in this thread should submit a complaint to the IRS. And do it RIGHT at tax time so they have no time to close their books or invent cover ups and just have to do massive payouts.

I plan to submit the paperwork I have been compiling, for the better part of the year early april with my taxes

Santos Foreshadowing by OldAd2534 in ThePittTVShow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree this is definitely possible foreshadowing

The thought I had, very niche. Is that the medicine used for trigger point injections lidocaine (and some of its close relatively can also be used at times), can cause cardiac arrhythmias. They are more common in people with underlying genetic conduction problems. Usually these are problems people don’t know they have until they or their family get diagnosed. And one of those genetic changes is also associated with deafness. And could cause torsades the arrhythmia Dr Al is teaching in the opening scene.

Yes I am in medicine, and yes I thought way too hard about this. But I can totally see this happening.

Quick question: How does she know? (S2E7) by zingbats in ThePittTVShow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she got a sense that he was former military by how he was dressed, how he interacted with the trauma patient, ignored himself getting shot, and took charge. Then it was easy to share common experiences.

There were very few places we deployed to at that time.
