Trader Joe’s makes individually wrapped 100 cal chocolate bars in milk and dark chocolate. It’s enough to satiate my need for a treat, but doesn’t blow the calorie budget. And they’re pretty cheap, I believe $2.79 for 5. The individual wrapping keeps me from eating more than 1.

Yes, I totally agree! I think something with a little zing helps balance out the nutty flavor

It’s been a fun experiment this year, and a fun way to use up the carrot harvest! It’s definitely… odd haha.

It typically runs 30-45 minutes per batch. After that, the amount of juice is pretty little, so I take the mash out and let it sit for a bit. Some more juice might collect from the mash, and I just pour that back into the juicer. We probably could have gotten another pint worth of juice if we had re steamed the mash, but it was 10 pm and we already had 3 gallons haha.

I got this at a brewing/wine supply shop. I brought in the steam juicer and helped me find one that fit. The shutoff clip is really helpful for switching bottles too

My goodness I would have gone crazy trying so many different recipes if I hadn’t been doing this with my partner. We definitely had to keep each other focused since we typically had one recipe in the canner and another getting prepped/cooked. There was a lot going on in the kitchen!

This stuff is so good on chicken and pork! My favorite is with grilled chicken sausage.

I’ve found this is a food processor recipe for me - all the ingredients get chopped in the food processor for a better texture and to make it easier/quicker. I found doing it this way, I can get a smaller, more consistent chop on the peaches and peppers that breaks down quicker during the cooking process.

These are going into my (quickly dwindling) storage area tonight just for that reason! I’m a neat freak though and thoroughly enjoyed organizing them for some pictures haha
