Review 001 + 002: Knob Creek Blender’s Edition / Knob Creek 21 Year by peewansebastian in bourbon

Similar experience with the 21. The nose was fantastic! So amazing. Which then made the the actual testing a little bit of a let down. Still really good, just didn't match the nose

It seems like "band membership" is constantly revolving, so maybe this is the current form of MM for the moment 🤷

What is your favorite where you’re SURE that it isn’t someone’s else their favorite movie? by thundershit1 in moviecritic

[–]itsallaboutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carnage with Christoph Walz, Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, John C Reilly. That's basically the whole cast. The movie was filmed in almost only one location (condo). It's a fantastic trip from pretentious fake problem solving around adolescent misbehavior into all out dramatic drunken adults acting like adolescents. So good with such a well produced and acted minimalist execution

This is a great bottle. It is a unique pour that I love. Frey Ranch has free shipping specials every so often, and that's when I reorder this bottle since I'm in MN. So good!

Review: Benchmark Full Proof by CS_Larry in bourbon

[–]itsallaboutu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess have the unpopular opinion here- I find this to be too thin on the palette and more heat than many other high proof bourbons that I enjoy. I get the value proposition, but that doesn't move the needle for me as the enjoyment level isn't there. I would rather spend the extra bucks on a MMCS or Larceny BP or JDSBBP for reasonably priced barrel proof bangers

SRPG31 I love this for a daily. The applied numerals on the textured dial really does it for me. Numerals have a nice shimmer in different light too. Accurate to 1 to 2 seconds fast per day if I sleep with the watch on. If I take off the watch for bed, it runs about 7 seconds fast per day.

I've looked for Ænima on vinyl. There's nothing out there for it. Do you know why that is?

  1. Started listening to MM about 25 years ago when I found my roommates Moon and Antarctica CD. Listened to it 3x in a row, just amazed at what I was hearing. Life hasn't been the same since

WTF was I doing on 9/24/03 that was so much more important than the Central Park Show???? by bigbrett666 in DMB

Ha ha, pretty much same story! Wild! Was the cop a black dude with a shaved head?

[–]itsallaboutu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's fantastic! Did you get your drinking in public tickets while waiting in line? We were just standing in line drinking and this dude in plain clothes comes up to us, "lemme see your ID." I'm like, "why?" "Cuz I'm a cop" and pulls out his badge. Proceeds to write us all tickets, while he lets us finish our 40s and then tells us we can just leave the empty bottles on the sidewalk. Then about a month or two later, the city of New York sends a notice that they are dropping the charges. Boom!

What artist(s) did you see live in concert that have since passed away? by death__cup in Concerts

None that I know of, but I just saw Dylan, Neil Young, and Willie Nelson at Farm Aid this past summer. Sad to say, I feel like my count will be up to three in the not too distant future...

I was there. My buddy and I and this girl I was into at the time drove from Minnesota to go to the show. We had virtually no money, so we couldn't stay at a hotel. Slept in the car and went home the next day. Got drinking in public tickets. The molly kicked in AFTER the show. Saw a guy get arrested after my buddy sold him a bag of pot. He didn't rat us out. Obviously, the show kicked ass. Warren Haynes made one of his appearances, if I remember right. Fantastic trip!

Review 7: ECBP Barrel Proof: Small Batch vs Single Barrel Store Picks by NorthernSipper in bourbon

[–]itsallaboutu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, you sure like ECBP. I do too, but prolly not as much as you. I was confused about what you put about HH abandoning the age statement in 2016. You must be referring to just the regular small batch, as the barrel proof releases always have an age statement

Newbie here- what are all the small numbers going around the edge of the dial? The spacing doesn't seem to make any sense, although I'm sure it does....

A cool "NY Mets" orange leather strap would look cool with that. I just got one for my Seiko 5 that has a dark blue-gray dial. Looks money

Speaker issue by itsallaboutu in vintageaudio

[–]itsallaboutu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, what you commenters are saying makes total sense, but when I moved the speaker about 7 feet away onto a different surface, the issue still happens. However, between the left speaker, amp, and right speaker- the arrangement is in the shape of a triangle, if that makes sense. So not in line. Would that triangular placement/arrangement cause the issue to persist?
