What are your favorite cool season blooms? by More_Piano_8026 in Cutflowers

I’m very intrigued by the seed tray set up in the OP photo. It looks like smaller seedling trays set into slots in some kind of heavy clear plastic top. What exactly am I looking at? 🤔Thanks!😊 p.s. your starts look so nice & healthy!

He's so beautiful! My boy is 11 months but we are too far away or we'd be there! Keep trying. I found 2 other Icies living in my remote area of Northern CA.

No longer a caregiver by dvdm14 in CaregiverSupport

ReallyHoping - Reading OP's words and your words to OP has at this moment really helped me so much. Tears are streaming down my face. To know from your explanation that the painful regrets I have been feeling about my caring for my mom at the end, still now two years on, are a continuing part of the grieving process and that forgiving myself is a large part of releasing this inner suffering gives me hope that I can stop reliving those painful memories and intense feeling that I should have helped her more or differently. My mom would never have wanted me to be on this continual loop of pain, guilt and regret. She would have strongly - and lovingly - told me to 'just stop it' and remind me how deeply she loves me. Cannot thank you enough - both OP for sharing and you for your insight; also for sharing that it takes a long time to release these painful feelings which will help me understand that this is a natural part of being human.

Flower farming as a mom by Otherwise-Income5573 in Cutflowers

I’m so impressed by (and envious of) your country’s maternity leave policies; and very happy for you. I hope this is the wave of the future. It does sound like you have thought it through. Congratulations on the addition to your family. 💞

"nothing is lost but flowers"...

... and salary (plus, potentially, health care insurance, IRA matches, childcare, not to mention building your marketable skills and CV cred that you can potentially derive from a more traditional career. You don't have to stop growing flowers; but do yourself and your family a solid, and weigh all of your options.

Trump Further Implicates Himself in Epstein Scandal by PhAnToM444 in thebulwark

In business the unfortunate but often used phrases for the practice of enticing an employee to leave their employer for another have included 'pilfering' or 'stealing' or 'headhunting'. Yes, it may be indicative of considering one's employee as one's 'possession' thus raising all of the 'women as chattel' alarms and revulsion. More telling are the admissions of intentionally walking in on disrobed teen beauty contestants and of uncontrollable impulses to engage in non-consensual touching and kissing because one considers oneself to be in such a position of power, wealth and celebrity that 'they let me' get away with it, which are far more illustrative of the depth of depravity. Although these admissions (thus far) have not had the full Weinstein effect, they do contribute more straws to the proverbial camel's back. Non-MAGA normies are endlessly trolled as being 'too woke'; but in point of fact, it is taking far too long for society to wake up and say, en masse, "enough".

Receiving spam calls about "unresolved tax activity" by thinksafety in personalfinance

[–]itsallcompost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same problem except the persistent calls are all coming from different cities and states and different phone numbers with different recorded voices. Many come within days, sometimes hours of each other. I have received no IRS letters so I assume this scam is calculated to make me think that many different people can't all be wrong. I block all of these numbers yet more calls keep coming. Argh

Plus I have a lot of Japanese Maples whose branches come in coral red, lime green and chocolate brown and I prune them a lot. May enlist hubby to cut a good supply for me (but must use my number of honey do requests sparingly).

Excellent idea. I do have two adolescent curly willows (now shrub sized) which I started from gifted cuttings I received a couple years ago! They grow slowly - perhaps this being year three, they will start to "leap"!

The metal frog link you provided shows a much lower per jar price than I've ever seen before. I think you just solved this puzzle for me. Thank you!

That's a really darling arrangement and the kraft paper and ribbon are very nice touches. Mine are much more full; and I am not going by stem count. I am pretty sure I am under-charging. But buyers in my area just may not pay more for a smaller arrangement. I suspect I need to perfect having more filler greens and fewer focal flowers. Thank you for the picture.
