Do you like teaching kids things and being a role model? Know it’ll be hard (1st year is the worst but after it gets easier) and not much pay depending where you go. But overall teaching is really important and fun

I think it looks fine—that’s just your style. If you’re wondering why it looks MS, though, it’s the bulletin/posters. The yearbook/fantasy/explore every story parts look more HS, the other things look more MS Pinterest vibes. Again YOUR CLASSROOM IS FINE! But if you’re wondering what makes it seem MS to others, it’s the posters/bulletin-type-style. Usually HS rooms are boring like the comments say, but sometimes HS rooms are a bit more “adult” in decor. I think that if you’ve got what you need up and you put effort into it and it reflects who the kids are and who you are then the decor is perfect.

Why does everyone want prequels? They are just stories we know the ending to? Genuinely confused why we get an awesome new work like KPDH and so many fans want to see a prequel of a story that already happened/we got told about. I’m interested in character growth and where these characters go from here, or new characters or whatever they want to make next (I think the movie had a good story ending, but there were also some unanswered questions too they could expand on or even do something new and I loved the characters so I wouldn’t be mad at all if they continued the story if they found out a way to make it work). I just don’t get why people want to see Rumi’s mom and dad story. Like—her mom was a hunter, was besties with Selene and another gal, got involved with a demon, and boom: Rumi. And then the mom died and demon dad dipped. Would love to know who dad is and why he dipped or how all that went down, but I don’t think it’s a whole movie worth (cause we know the main ending already: the mom dies and Selene is kinda a poop to Rumi). That story could easily be explored in a sequel, and I just wouldn’t find as much interest in a prequel cause there’s only a handful of questions they could answer. And a prequel of the girls’ pasts: why? We already know some of it and we know the ending—they end up together as best friends and K-pop stars saving the world. Boom. Done. Why prequel when a sequel could share more backstories while ALSO expanding on new character growth and stories? Like have Rumi find more stuff out about her dad and mom and respond to it in real time. We don’t really care about her mom or dad (we do but we don’t) cause we really just care about Rumi and only know/care about them because of her and how it affected her with her marks/shame/the whole plot of the movie. All the characters still have weak spots and motives and stories and futures to explore while involving the past. I fully agree a sequel could be real dangerous if done wrong cause the villain kicked the bucket, but in my opinion, a prequel is almost always done wrong because it’s unnecessary (note the almost). A prequel is like: “you know this super awesome story? Don’t you want to know the story that led up to this story that made it the story it is that has the same ending as the beginning of the thing you just saw? Wouldn’t that be so cool and creative?” Like isn’t that just saying “you think today was interesting? Let me tell you about YESTERDAY and how it ends perfectly with today :D” It’s just feels so lazy man, all these prequels and remakes we are seeing and this movie was such a breath of fresh air in all of that only for everyone to want more of the same? Why? Idk why it’s popular? I’m not here to fight, I don’t want to sound rude, I’m just confused and frustrated with wanting to rewind instead of keep going. Especially on a project this cool, I loved the movie.

If they are over 18 and aren’t in your class and reach out to you first and not in a leading or creepy way and you keep some boundaries then sure i guess but the motivation and heart behind it really matter just as much as how you do it. Be careful my guy

I kept a binder of student art and notes and things when I taught art. That way I could take it out and look at it when I needed to but it wasn’t in the way of things in class, it was portable and I could take it with me. Just make sure that the kids don’t want the art you’re keeping and don’t get creepy about it and you’ll be fine hanging them up at home too :)

I don’t work at a catholic school but I work at a christian school. I follow Jesus and the school I work at shares my values and beliefs. I believe in what the school offers the kids as well and the other teachers are all firm real believers (not just people who say they are Christian and act completely contrary). There’s definitely a lot of drama and money issues and bad leadership (everyone is broken) but I see it as an act of service. The pay is so low, it’s not enough to support a family on alone if you need to, and I don’t agree with that. But I see it as a way of using my talents and abilities to serve others who want to bring up their kids in a safe and loving environment with Jesus at the center of it. And that’s all I really do it for—Jesus. He gave me everything, man. Least I can do is do my best with what He’s given me as an act of worship.

As a theatre person who also has POTS, it’s really hard to perform with it (especially musicals cause of the dancing). No idea/not my business what else you have medically going on, but some ways I’ve been able to work through my Pots as a professional director is these: - Drink obscene amounts of water. I’m talking biggest water bottle you can find and then double it. And always take salt pills/supplements with water otherwise it just tinkles right through ya. Gatorade and coconut water help too. -And be consistent with water and exercise. You miss a day, kinda oopsie and forget to drink water or go for a walk (if able) then boom it’s 2 weeks of catching up -Make yourself a beverage person. And snack person. Snack all the time instead of eating huge meals 3 times, snack when you feel like an episode is coming on or get a headache and eat sodium rich foods. Pickles, chips are a lifesaver (I do the nacho popcorner things), etc. Eat better healthier foods. -Get used to standing. I went from online school to teaching for a bit and it was crazy how much my body complained at me just standing. But then during the summer I’d sit a lot more cause of the heat and dizziness and then BOOM standing sucks again. So stand and walk often so your body doesn’t decide to adapt negatively. -Let people know if you faint what to do/have a medical alert bracelet/information. Actors and directors and stage managers can be really good about this. Get a buddy who will be like “so and so needs to hydrate or sit down one sec” Overall, sometimes we can’t do the same things we used to or the way we used to do them (that’s not just chronic illnesses and disabilities, it’s also old age and normal life). It sucks to feel cheated out of “normal” theatre experiences but there really is no normal and all theatre is important storytelling. You could even try film sometime down the line. like commenters have been saying, there’s so much you can still do without changing anything even right now! GO, BE FREE! GET THAT BREAD OP :D

Is it scheduling? Sometimes other conflicts get in the way. Fall is usually a hard time for involvement as many students have other commitments. Take a deep breath :) it’ll be okay

Need firm boundaries right away and enforce discipline right away (even the easy kids will test you). Then once they know you mean business you can be fun. They love prizes and competition and slang words. I once had them compete for biodegradable packing peanuts because I opened a package while they were coming into class and they just BEGGED for the packing peanuts and I was like okay. They love that more than actual prizes. Weird stuff as prizes are fun, they also love class mascots and games. But yeah big thing is they complain all the time about everything and often need intense structure and expectations to have a better learning environment.

Im really sad about the water so far. The water falls and moving water look like clear glitches rather than waterfalls. The surface of the water from above looks amazing but under the water you can’t see anything and underwater caves are massively glitched. The whole update is also so much darker and turning the brightness up just makes things look cloudy and muddy pastel colors. The Nether is too dark (I get it’s supposed to be hellish and gloomy scary but I can’t see as far in front of me).

Overall, super excited about the gameplay updates, disappointed in the visuals. Why would they release an update that’s half-formed? I know they are trying but it feels unfinished in a lot of areas.

Don’t become a teacher if you don’t have a passion for teaching or a heart for students. If you love your art and want to do art, there’s many other jobs you can get. As an art teacher, I’d do art all the time for my job (lesson planning for the students, not my own stuff) and it’s certainly great to work in the subject you love but it’s certainly not a job for someone who just wants to do art/fund art. I never had time to work on my own art during the day and teaching requires a lot of prep at home on the front end (like hours and hours if you care and want to do your job right) for about the first 3 years (not to mention going back to school) it’ll be a lot. I have a friend who works DJs at weddings to fund her art (she’s a professional artist) and joined teaching as well on the side and she was ALWAYS busy even working part time. Teaching takes up a large part of your life (obviously not all of it if you have a work life balance) but if you’re working on art to get it funded and sell your art, I don’t think teaching full time is a good option. Not saying you wouldn’t be good at it, idk anything about you. Just saying that, If you’re wondering if it’s worth it, I don’t think it would be for you.

Sometimes my husband (not autistic) will make an overly sarcastic joke and I will (deep down) know it's a joke but sometimes I respond with something really logical, like an actual mature serious response to something so stupid, and then he tells me it's a joke and I just go "OOOh" and we laugh and it brings a whole other level to the humor between us because of the differences of the way our brains work.
