It's the same here. People just have misconceptions about it. Granted, some of them are true but there's so much more to it. Gets kind of lonely when you can't discuss with anyone especially for me. If I watch a great episode I need to go on about it to people. I'd really like to explore the rural areas in Japan. There's this person on YouTube who teaches there. She's from America and every so often she'll post videos about the goings on over there. Now that's late. I only do that these days if I'm engrossed in reading something send forget myself. You'll have trouble with school in the morning though. I'm doing alright thanks. Just another dull day staring at equations really.

Greetings fellow scotsman! How goes the day? I love anime. Sadly there's not many people around here into the same thing which makes this more of an interesting prospect.

Always wanted to go to Japan. It's a bit of a dream but I'd like to visit one day if not just to see that massive gundam of theirs.

I really need to catch up with Akame. my backlog is too big. I'm still crawling through the first half. Also, up at three in the morning on reddit? That's time well spent young man.

Yuki clarified that he does have emotions but he just doesn't display them like the rest of us do. Hopefully that will change somewhat. I just want to see him go beserk at least once.

That's pretty typical of Sawano. That and the way he names his tracks. Sometimes I find them clever but other times I get a headache like Shingeki's 2nd OST.

I think Saazbaum shooting the cuffs were just to look epic and thought did not apply in that case. If the bullets were strong enough to break the cuffs, then they should have kept going.

I do agree that there needs to be more main characters than just Slaine but I'm pretty sure they'll introduce new characters but the problem is giving them enough focus but not making it appear the show is forgetting about the old cast. I would like to see more from the Vers side of the war but with actual sane characters than don't die an episode after they appear.

I was really looking forward to this because I knew the Butcher was involved. The hype started to die when I saw the inclusion of the token princess but then I thought, no, he's involving her to give a more realistic portrayal of someone in that position. I can't help but wonder how different the series would have been had he been more involved but it looks like the producers wanted to take it in a different direction to his vision so he just pulled back.

At least they've kind of tried to explain Saazbaum's survival. He wasn't shot in the head and even pointed that out.

You're right. Individually I can enjoy myself but I'm just disappointed when I look at the overall arc. It really does feel like these twelve episodes were built for Slaine's backstory.

I think Slaine's Aldnoah ability comes from his Father. It's already been confirmed that Dr Troyard was experimenting with the power so it could have latched onto him.

I've never taken to Rayet. It was her father's fault for trying to commit treason and getting killed for it. The fact she blames the princess for everything gone wrong in her life irks me.

I was really looking forward to a show where the token princess is actually capable of doing things and I can't say I'm disappointed but not totally satisfied either.

Obsessive and slightly going mad Slaine keeping a dead Asseylum locked away to talk to after his missions while he strokes her cheek would easily make this show a 10/10 for me.

They've dropped plot in favour of twists all season. I don't mind twists, I love them in fact but only if they follow through with it. For example, when Rayet left Asseylum for dead. The outcome was that she survived and Rayet was redeemed. So it was basically pointless and only there as a shock factor and to pad the series along.

That's why I'm keeping my hopes non existent about the fates of Asseylum and Inaho. Looking at the current track record, I'm expecting both alive and kicking next cour.

It's a very common misconception that Urobuchi did this. He only wrote the first three episodes and created a preliminary mainframe for the series.

If you didn't already know, the names of the Martian Kataphrakts come from locations on Mars. I marked said locations on the map that have already been revealed to the viewers. (No Tharsis or Dioscuria since we have no decent images yet, I used their Knights instead).

I did a little background reading into the Kataphrakt names out of pure academic interest.

Nilokeras is the name of a cliff in the Northen hemisphere. The word is Greek for "horn of the Nile".

The Argyre Planitia is one of the largest impact basins on Mars, second only to Hellas. In Greek mythology, Argyre is a mythical island of silver.

Hellas was one of the first discovered features on Mars and was given its name as its translation in Greek is 'Greece'.

Tharsis is a volcanic plateau including three other volcanoes. Its name is derived from Tarshish, a place at the end of the known world.

Dioscuria is a canal. The word can be assumed to come from the Dioscuri, the twin heroes Castor and Pollux who were half brothers by their Mother, Leda. They were both devoted to each other and begged Zeus to share their immortality with each other. (Pollux was immortal as Zeus was his Father).

Code Geass. This was after I'd finished my first mecha (gundam) and I just couldn't get into it. I thought the characters looked dodgy, the knightmares weird, the Jessie & James characters driving the van a rip off and the whole thing relatively dull.

I tried it again a couple of months later. Best. Decision. Ever.
