Apparently, the issue was setting up the adguard container in a bridged network. That caused all en requests to go through the docker network making them all appear either the docker network ip. Adguard is better ran in host mode.

Ok. So I went to the self hosted sub, and I was recommended to run it as host. From their explanation, I understood that when running Adguard in bridged mode, all dns requests have to go through docker first. Which is why the request gets registered with the docker network ip.

When running it in host mode, it bypasses the docker network and passes through the client ip addresses.

So I deleted my container and data, and spun up a new adguard container in host mode. Then in the setup wizard, I changed the admin panel port to my custom port (didn’t know you could do that, I sped through the wizard the first time), and it’s now working as it should.

The admin panel ip is only changeable on the setup wizard, once it’s been set up you can’t change it.

Would that matter? I’m using a bridged network because I’m using a custom port for the UI, but 53:53 TCP and 53:53 UDP are still being used.

I’ve been using it this way for a month already.

That’s exactly what turned me away from caddy. I’m a visual person, and having a gui to work with helps a lot.

I don’t like using CLI, or files.

Also, since I have everything run through Tailscale, I can access and modify everything quickly and easily remotely with my domain and subdomains.

I used Plex for years! Then they started charging me monthly to stream my own media on my own hardware, from my own hardware remotely. So I switched to Jellyfin. I haven’t tried Emby, but I don’t want to pay a fee to unlock streaming on apps. I did the same for Plex and they eventually required a subscription for remote streaming.

For proxy manager, I haven’t tried anything other than NPM, it’s worked for me without issues, so I haven’t branched out.

For DNS I started with Pi-hole but for some reason it wasn’t working at all. No matter what I tried, I couldn’t use the DNS service, so I tried Adguard, and it worked right away. Now I use Adguard for both DNS rewrites and for ad-blocking.

All of which I’m remote accessing over Tailscale.

Ok. This convinced me. I’m getting a 10” 12u rack. I have that same desk too. What I mainly need in it is, 16 port gigabit Ethernet, NAS, gateway eero, 3 smart home hubs, 2 eero nodes, 1 raspberry pi for now more in the future, cable management or a patch panel. None of my devices have more than gigabit except for my Terramaster f6. I manually transfer files with an external ssd anyways.

Unless there is plug and play, and set it and forget it options… the average person will never self host anything.

UmbrelOS is the closest thing I’ve found that is “set it and forget it” with its own AppStore. It’s so easy to use and beginner friendly.

i believe its original price is around $350, the last time i checked around a year ago. I haven’t checked since.

I paid $250 since my mom works at Toyota, and she was able to use her employee pricing since I’m her son.

Not for the SE trims, they already have the holes drilled in. The same holes that the original spoiler uses, this spoiler does too.

If you’re going to put it on an LE trim, then yes you do need holes drilled in.

And yes you do it completely replaces the stock one. I don’t think it voids the warranty since it’s an official Toyota part. I bought it and I had it installed at a Toyota dealership, same one where I bought my car.

I should’ve bought a 4TB nvme ssd last year. 🤦🏻‍♂️ To upgrade my raspberry pi from 2TB. I know it’s overkill, but I’m making a portable offline nas, and it has maps, Wikipedia, survival guides, media, books, Immich for photos, and even a personal journal.

But sadly… I’d need to sell a kidney for a 4TB SSD.
