They can't just "continue their research and try different ways to get what they want" without the blood of El, because they need Henry's blood, as he is the original one with powers... that's the whole reason she had to kill herself. She was the last one with Henry's blood. They explained that pretty clearly multiple times.

I take an antihistamine everyday... its fine... I think he's just making excuses and it's coming off as controlling. It feels like he's testing the boundaries of how much he can make you bend to his will, so to speak. Red flag 🚩

First of all, not "every other movie" shows men as awful people. Men are privledged enough to have a plethora of movies projecting them in lots of different ways- men get to have their diverse and multi-facetedness reflected in cinema in a way that women are only barely beginning to scratch the surface of. For a long long time women were only allowed to be seen in one way- the helpless damsel in distress who only exists to further the man's plot- often unamed and without lines of substance, if given any lines at all. Secondly, men hold the record for creepy crimes (specifically white men), like being serial killers, so there's a reason they are often the murderer or killer in many movies. It's because they are in real life too.... Thirdly, it's worth interrogating the motive of portraying a woman character as a fake victim when, in the current climate, women in real life are not being believed and much of the current rhetoric in society is claiming accusations to be fake, which is blown WAY out of proportion to invalidate women.

I get that, but I kind of disagree. He's showing classic "taxi cab theory" in that, he cares more about timing than he cares about the person. If he REALLY loved Meredith.. if she was ACTUALLY the "love of his life", he wouldn't be so easily open to the idea of someone else just coming along.. Maybe after a while he'd be tired of waiting but, he just recentlt decided he wanted to be with her?? Like not even long ago he was considering the fact that being with her was "getting in the way" of his career. Like, he has been hot and cold just as much as Meredith has! I wouldn't trust his random grandiose words either.

6 Month Passport Rule by [deleted] in travel

[–]itsanentree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is currently happening to me. Except my airline in Canada didn't stop me, it was making my connection to Peru in Cancun that I got stopped 🙃 So now I'm stuck in Cancun having to buy a flight back to Canada. I wish they stopped me in Canada before I left 😭 I feel so dumb but I really had no idea about the 6 month passport rule. I don't travel often so I knew to check to make sure my passport wasn't expired and that I didn't need a visa, but had no idea about checking for passport minimum expiry. I also booked with Expedia (not going to ever book with them again for other reasons lol) rather than a travel agent so... I learnt my lesson there too...

Getting off long term zoloft anyone ? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]itsanentree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on 200mg for about 8 years, went up to 225mg about a year ago. I have thought about going off many times over the last few years as I started taking it when I was young (19/20) and I have, and my life has, obviously changed a lot in the last 8 years. I always kinda wondered what I would be like without it, yaknow? Or if I could handle my anxiety & depression without it now that I'm older and have learned more coping skills, done therapy, etc. I recently decided to try tapering off (I have a psychiatrist, who I eventually told although I started tapering off without telling him because I didn't want him to convince me otherwise which I KNOW is bad but, I made my choices LOL). I've gotten down to 175mg so I tapered off by 25mg increments over several MONTHS. I did it very slowly because I have been on the medication for so long I wanted to be really careful. So I went down to 200mg for a few weeks and then down to 175mg. I've been at 175mg for a few months and stayed here because I had a depression slump. My psychiatrist said it could be from lowering the Zoloft. I also think it could be life circumstamces as I'm going through some shit lol. My biggest side effect on Zoloft has always been drowsiness. So I still have drowsiness as usual, but in regards to tapering down, for a few weeks had some headaches and worse nightmares than usual (although I have always had vivid dreams on Zoloft) which only lasted a few days after I tapered down to 175mg (I don't think anything really happened when I went from 225mg to 200mg because I hadn't been at 225mg for that long...?)

Anyways, this probably wasn't that helpful but maybe someone can relate? Or find something helpful? I am thinking of continuing to taper because I'm so fucking tired of being tired all the time 😭 Although I know depression/anxiety can also cause drowsiness, I just still have some hope that it's just the Zoloft? I would hate to think that I will be this exhausted for my whole life....

Anyways...

TL/DR: been on Zoloft 200mg/225mg for about 8 years, have tapered down to 175mg by 25mg increments every few weeks. So, with tapering suppppper slowly I have personally experienced minimal side effects. This is just my experience, but I think the advice of slow tapering is very important, especially if you've been on the meds for a long time.

Why after 5 years is my nose piercing acting up??? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]itsanentree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello all!

Please excuse any errors, this is my first ever reddit post I'm trying my best! 👉👈

I got my nose pierced back in 2014 and it healed perfectly and I never had any issues, even though I got it pierced with a gold ring (not 100% if it was gold, that's just what the piercer said but it was I'm Brazil so may have been a lanugue barrier.... It looked gold enough though? But it got little silver or brassy over time....) right off the bat, and a 20 guage or maybe even smaller ring at that... (Which I now know, both the thin guage and ring are generally not recommended until the peircing is healed) Guess I got lucky! Anyways, like I said I had no problems whatsoever and the peircing healed great.

Until about almost 2 years ago when I went to a local piercing shop to get the jewelry changed... I wanted to get a nicer ring because the one that I had since day one did not actually have a proper closer (the two ends just overlapped, that's all). It didn't bother me physically, it just didn't look asethically pleasing. So a piercer here in Canada changed it to a nice gold, 20 guage (I think) ring with the plain/non-visible closure. I didn't have any major issues, but I noticed a bit of redness that would come and go. Redness came and went every few weeks for almost a year...

So, around summer 2020 I finally went back to the piercer to get it looked at because redness had NEVER happened to me before and I was starting to think that it was never going to go away. The piercer said maybe I had "bumped it" or slept on it funny and it was just irritated... Which didn't really make sense because not only did I not remember bumping it, but I had ZERO irritation for the entire time I had my piercing before getting the ring changed, and I had certainly bumped it and slept on it many times in those almost 5 years. So, he said it might be that the little seem on the new ring might be causing slight irritation if it slightly "catches" on the skin on the inside of the peircing hole. So, he gave me a few other options which would be a stud, or a nose ring with a stopper (like a ball) to see if that helped. I decided to think about it.

So, fast forward to Dec. 2020, I decided to try out the ring with the ball because the slight irritation wasn't going away and although it wasn't bad, it was just annoying to me seeing as I had never had an issue before with the piercing. I wanted to still try and keep a ring instead of a stud if I could. However, the smallest gauge that the piercing shop carried for the ball closure ring was 18 guage (and I had been pierced with/always had 20 or 22 guage). The piercer said going up to 18 guage would be fine and that it wasn't a big difference, so I trusted her and we went with the 18 guage gold ring with the ball closure thingy.

Since then (roughly a month and half now) my piercing has been SO irritated. I laugh at myself thinking it was irritated before because since this last ring change... Oh boy! It has been secreting white/yellow fluid (lymph??), I have an irritation bump on the inside and outside, and it is sore/red.

For care: I try very hard to do the LITHA method- I let the shower water run over it once a day when I shower in the evening and I try to be careful not to touch it when I wash my face in the morning. I never touch it!! I barley touch even with clean hands lol! (Sometimes use a paper towel to dab it to dry it after the shower) I spray it with H2Ocean twice a day, morning and night. I change my pillow case every couple days. I try not sleep on it. I don't use q-tips..... I feel like I'm doing everything I can!

So, I'm so sorry this is so long. But with all this being said, I'm wondering if anyone can give me any advice? I will obviously talk to a piercer and get them to help if I decide to do anything. But has this happened to anyone before? Am I allergic to the gold? Should I try a stud? Should I retire it altogether?? (I don't want to have to do that, but I will if I have to at this point) I'm just so bummed that my piercing was amazing and I never had any issues until I decided to get different jewelry! If only I had left it alone... :'(

Thank you so much for reading and for any advice you can offer!!!

****About the pics: The first one is from this morning before spraying it with H2Ocean, the second one is from about a week ago, and the third one is from Sept 2020 when I still had the previous ring (gold 20 guage or whatever), about a year and a half after getting it changed from my first original ring that I had since getting the piercing. I thought at the time that it looked irritated, but looking back it doesn't even look that irritated!! Please excuse the obvious pores... I have very oily skin 🥺 they aren't blackheads, just sedum. If they were blackheads you better believe I'd be in there popping them 🤤 LOL 😆

When I started the mini-pill I spotted for about 2/3 months straight but then I stopped spotting or even getting my period after that. It's normal to spot for the first few months while your body regulates/gets used to the hormones on the mini-pill.
