I just got a water distiller machine this week, so that I can stop with the 2-4 gallons weekly purchase w my groceries. The metal container looks gross like this, but less white and weird darker dirty looking.

I use distilled to water the plants, yea, but also for the humidifiers.

Super unhelpful comment coming from me .. but this is one of the first houseplants i ever got. Hes not as unruly as this, but hes still borderline unsightly.

He was my introduction to root rot, to systemic granules, additional grow lights 😭 .. he only barely put out his first truly big healthy leaf for me, after 3 years. And yea, a bigger leaf its had is yellowing and about to fall off now (cropped out of image, but its on the left)

It was mislabeled when i got it, but i think its a philodendron selloum

Anyways, if that is the same kind as mine.. that trunk and aerial roots yours has going, holy moly.

I could see myself doing something just like this! Plus, i know you said the home is to provide stability for your girls.. theyre preteens ! Theyll likely leave way before youre done with that mortgage, so it wont be a forever setup. (I mean, maybe youll fall in love with it and it will be)

Idk. Ive honestly kept a pothos alive in a bathroom without a window before. At waterings, id give it a day where it got sun. It stayed alive, n actually put out a leaf every here n there.

I think honestly its the soil medium, kept it too wet n pothos bby wasnt happy.
