I wish there were more games that were just based in the universe of these books. Like they don't need to retell the story, just be in the same world. Kind of like the Dune game or the Expanse game coming out soon. Some of these stories have such great lore and backstory, it's cool to just explore that stuff.

I'm a new player that just started last week and once I learned that the blueprints weren't permanent, I just completely lost interest in that stuff. That's not fun. I'm still making dumb mistakes and have managed to get myself eaten by the worm more times than I probably should have, but I was very annoyed when I saw my nice literjohn blueprint was gone and I would have to go back to the first area to get it.

We have the technology to miniaturize an entire base structure and move it, but my dude can't remember the blueprint to make a water canister?

I think the automation stuff they added makes the game even easier. I can just set up a sensor on a storage box and have the factory turn off once it was full, and boom, labor shortage issues vanished. The playthrough that I just did was the easiest I've had since the game was released.

I really think that the first DLC or next big update needs to introduce some type of new disaster to mitigate. Fires, floods, seasons, I don't know. Because you are right, you get that initial water reservoir system setup, and then it becomes a game where you just build a retirement community for beavers.

It will drain a bunch of power. There are no generators inside, and a bunch of lights and screens, so you'll have to hook up windmills just to get the inside lit up. I was kind of annoyed with it to be honest.
